| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- As much as I love BBC's Sherlock, I had a bit of trouble taking this manga seriously! The art was great and all, but gave too much expression to them (as in, too much expression for their characters) and, to me, the art looked quite odd at times! And not only that, it was basically word for word how it is in the show! So...I was actually expecting it to be a slightly different take on Sherlock, throwing in some other themes in there and whatnot. But since it was identical to the show, you might as well just go watch the episode and it will be the same, only better! Anyone else feel like this? I'll keep reading it to see if it does in fact change directions later on. |

| I liked it but I agree with you. In my case it is the hope to go more deeply in sherlock thoughts because the way he thinks in the series is astonishing and I liked it. Well we see how it will work out. |

| I LOVE the TV series, so when i found out that there was a manga - I am not sure what i thought to be honest. Most of the drawings I like...For example Sherlock most of the time really resembles Benedict Cumberbatch's face expressions - I wasn't so keep on John's appearance...he doesn't look like Martin Freeman much at all....Even though the manga is word for word from the show at least we have something in the meantime before the next series comes out. :D |
| I know the BBC Sherlock back to front, and even though they were fairly spot on... Sherlock had WAY too much facial expression. They made him look like a psychopath, instead of a sociopath. I liked the art for the rest of it. As for the dialogue. Well. I read this entire chapter in the proper character voices and pretty much heard the soundtrack playing in my head as I went. So any part of the story that wasn't word for word with the dialogue, I noticed. Other than that, I actually feel like it was done decently, though because I'm extremely picky about my Sherlock (fanfic, music video mashups, art) I have a feeling I wouldn't enjoy this nearly as much as someone who wasn't a Holmesian, or if I wasn't completely and hopelessly in love with the BBC's exact adaptation. |

| So this stays true to the original fiction, or so I heard.. Hmm I don't like the art, it's hard to distinguish one character to another, and the facial expression, the mouth when Sherlock smiles, that was disgusting to be honest. Might check out the TV series if I could find them. |

It's a bit awkward at times, but the witty dialogue and gestures... <33 |
