It's a good thing Kei has plenty of experience in mahjong now cause he's a participant among the biggest tournament now.

Loved his confidence although I feel less invested in his opponents compared to the previous episodes.

Really cool seeing some "normal" mahjong for a change, i really like the synergy between K and Hatakeyama, like survivors from an accident they have this inexplicable bond and i really like how Hatakeyama evolve arc by arc i really hope he's not dead

Now too bad for that kid, which seems like a genius at the game for his age, hope K get his revenge for all that transpired

At first I'm like "oh a low-stake game, now it's a change of pace" then I realized that this anime is not that kind.

Ok, this is a great comeback after the anime's hiatus. We got to see some "for fun mahjong", which helps me draw comparisons with Yu-Gi-Oh! GX's Jaden character development at the end of his own series. Unfortunately someone doesn't plan to allow K to take a breather.

We actually got a new ED, which I kind of didn't need expect, considering the anime's low budget. It's also a good one imo.

Considering Hatakeyama... I'll be on him surviving through this. He did play rep for some time himself so he probably knows a thing or two about surviving... which makes me wonder, how come the Ichigun don't provide their rep a basic protection? At least one low-level thug should be a sustainable deal.

Speaking of Hatakeyama, this episode reminds me of all the times Kaiji would tell his opponents that he expects them to push through and face him again one day. I'm not sure if that ever happens in Kaiji, but it sure does feel good.

An open mahjong tournament is a good idea and it's a nice change compared to we previously saw, though it's starting really tough for them I mean the poor genius mahjong kid got killed in an arson because they mistook him for K... and now Hatakeyama is also maybe dead but we'll see I guess.

As someone who plays in registered tournaments myself, this episode nailed the atmosphere pretty well. Albeit, I've never had to deal with an opponent getting killed after the first day...

Kei being deep into the mahjong mafia certainly has no limitations now, not after the betrayal of his friends, and now with the incoming Ryuu-Ou-I tournament, even with friends like Hatakeyama, the atmosphere of gangs in the business hiding as players, as well as a young boy who seems more adept to playing mahjong, this open tournament to play for fun...it could not have been made for that, right? But indeed, it's just enjoying their sessions without any needless sacrifices.

The feud between Kei and Hatakeyama got so heated that it became quite the spectacle, they simply forgot about the time. But the young boy killed in arson, Keitarou Kitamura, is also logged similarly to Kei's namesake reputation, which meant that actual participants are ousted for real. Clearly, something is going on, and Kei has to figure out the behind-the-scenes infamy with this tournament.

Looks like Kei has to go into the tournament expecting nothing but the same mafia workings again...

This episode was a calmest and the most normal one so far, but no things like normal can't happen in this show.

Poor kid, he would have become a pro once all grown, even Hatakeyama fall victim... hopefully he survived somehow. This tournament is far from normal now, what could be happening?
