the part with the new Ceo and assistant seemed unnecessary to the plot. A waste of time. :/

I guess you didn't watch the prequel? I don't blame you if you didn't it was pretty meh and I almost didn't finish it. But the first half of the episode was pretty relevant to tie in the season one finale with the Flame era. Throughout Flame season one it seemed like they were loosely linked with the OG cast making cameos for battles but now it seems like they're more related than we thought. Otherwise they wouldn't have used half of an episode to explain how Marguerite became CEO, Ein became her assistant, and foreshadow Mauro maybe having a bigger impact toward the end of the series once again.

But overall, I will say that Flame seems a lot more committed to trying to tell a story than OG.

I tried to watch it alongside this show, but flame is far more interesting of a watch compared to the first season.
