Kazuma has made up his mind and will devote his life protecting Shiika. This won't be easy.
The bully-girl from previous chapter turns out to be from the same orphanage as Shiika. She seems to hate Shiika since she "brings misfortune to everyone" or something. Wonder what she means by that!
Both girls are a mystery. I still believe the bully-girl is cruel towards Shiika due to some unfortunate event, gossip or misunderstanding, while Shiika isn't "evil in disguise" and genuinely tries to maybe have a happy life? It will be sad if Shiika turns out to be some twisted evil character who's god-level at manipulation. I just refuse to believe in this.

Shiika ran away, Kazuma will definitely go after her, but will he tell her he knows that she knows about Kazuma being her dad's killer?

Anyways, a very very good manga. This concludes volume 1 it seems. Hopefully volume 2 comes out fast. Can't wait.

I wish I could read in Japanese :D, nah I read it in Russian. Can't say the website here, it's against MAL rules unfortunately, but English version should be available pretty soon too I guess.

After re-reading all 5 chapters, I'm 99% positive Shiika isn't plotting anything cruel. I believe she honestly thinks she's responsible for her dad's crimes and the death of Kazuma's sister and wants to atone for it. In chapter 2 when she was eavesdropping on Kazuma's conversation with mom (fully knowing about the tragedy of this family and what Kazuma did), it's clear she stepped in to ease the pain of mom - who likely will suffer a lot if finds out she's the rapist guys daughter. First I was skeptical about Shiika's plans when it comes to Kazuma, but I just can't believe a girl like her is capable of hiding evil intentions to this extent. No, I believe she truly wants to devote her life healing this family. As chapter 5 implies, Shiika was likely involved in some other tragedy/tragedies hence why she's said to be bringing misfortune (Shiika also believes this). It's obvious she's faking smiles and acting all happy when around mom, but this she does because she genuinely feels sorry for Yuri and mom and now Kazuma too.

Hopefully the story will be about the trio healing and finding true peace together. It's sad how Shiika blames herself. Sad how mom blames herself. Sad how Kazuma feels guilty about Shiika. It doesn't need to become more sad and depressing.
Long road ahead, but I'll hope for the best. Gonna say straight away, if this has a tragic end with Shiika or Kazuma dying, I'll be very mad.

5th chapter and the emotions and tension still not letting up.

I really am beginning to see Shiika's motivation. From the very first time I got to read this, I already thought that Shiika is also atoning for something that his father did and all the while trying to contain the trauma of seeing such a gruesome scene she saw years ago.

That bully girl (Sumire) probably is trying to expose Shiika's past to the MC (while the MC already knew all along) so Shiika violently fought back in desperation.

1st volume really is a good introduction to this story. Looking forward to what happens next. They will probably find each other in the cemetery, where they first met.

The suspense isn't letting up, I'm excited to see how things develop with Sumire. I don't really get how the mother seems to be oblivious to the happenings in the orphanage and Shiika's past. Anyway, I hope that the second volume gets translated soon.
Tired, always tired!

They definitely need some clear communication in the next volume, ngl I feel like it may end up being like Boy's Abyss but either ways, still comes to the execution.
