Don't tell me that after all this time there's going to be a twist like "you are not my real son"

Could this be a metaphorical "kill"?
has she been making this whole thing up? I'm so confused!

My exact reaction to the ending, and most of this series honestly.

I also think it's metaphorical. Killing his innocence maybe

I mean yea... obviously.
Or as I said, MC is a zombie. Or it's not her son and some other child she stole and named Seiichi after killing her own. Would explain why she always talks like Seiichi isn't there lol

def think its a metaphorical killing. maybe everyone got it but i pretty sure real time sei interjects into her backstory monologue after he says “say it” because hes mom clearly does something in this moment and neither he remembers (cause hes a baby) and his mom suffering from whatever shes suffering from doesn’t want/does remember. honestly i think she kisses him on the lips on some freak shi, because if it was something like hurting him i think he would remember or his dad would see a bruise on him. but a romantic kiss from your mother would definitely kill a kids innocence.
( im dumb it clearly says “they begin the corroboration of their twisted stories 🤦🏽‍♂️)

Whaaaat.

But I think it's not an actual killing she's done. Certainly there isn't any replacement of Sei occured otherwise he wouldn't have these memories. Something traumatic must have happened and his mind partially obscured the memory to cope with it.

And there's also that memory with a dead cat, either a metaphor or something significant too.

Could be anything though.

She's so crazy even she can't fully explain why she did what she did.

Well I doubt Seichi would survive with his small body if his mom really dropped him from such a high place assuming there's no obstacle from up to the ground........

So....did his mom really pushed Shigeru back then ?  Or Was it all just Seichi's twisted delusion ? Only the author can tell....

I'm pretty sure in the last couple of panels, when it has the different font, it's the older Seiichi speaking to his mom in the current day as she tells him the story, right?

'Did I killed you? Yes, you killed me' what?! Obviously Seiko didn't literally killed him, so does she mean his pure, child innocent side of some sort? ugh

Seiichi was killed that day. He's been dead inside and doesn't have a sense of self. I've been wondering, was it really his mom's fault or just him thinking that it was the case.

Finally! Her full backstory.
So, her parents never really loved her for whatever reason, always yelling at her for no good reason,
and doting on the little sister for being born weak and fragile, until later she dies of cancer, to which the mother claims Seiko sucked out all her happiness. Bitter Bullshit, but whatever.

Poor Seiko had an awful mother who only got worse in verbal abuse after the father had an affair.
... in her childhood, she was mainly a loner throughout her whole life. Had one friend, but can never be good in groups.
Later on, she was invited to drama club, and enjoyed acting.
Pretending to be someone, and forgetting about herself completely.
It's the only time she finally enjoyed herself and her life.
But she never got the courage to become a successful actress by joining a theater troupe. A particular one in Tokyo had women perform naked. I don't think she'd be willing to do that. They made all the female recruits do it.

That's when she met her husband again.
He did poetry. Couldn't write. Took over his dad's business. Before then, she kinda enjoyed him. Found him easy to talk to. But moreso accepted him, I think.
They hung out for a few years I guess. In her place. And after he took over his dad's. He asked to marry. She simply accepted.

His sister was the first and only to see through her from the beginning. How she seems to not care or be happy about anything.
So, a year after her own child, she suggests Seiko get her own, to change her own life. Make it better by having a child to care for other than yourself.
But it never helped. After marriage. She gave up acting. And was always in a subtle state of hopeless depression with a meaningless life.

Then all of a sudden, she wanted to go back to place where she hated humans, and everyone that's happy, not caring about her own family who never cared for her, even after her sister died, who she barely saw, and never cried for.

That's when... she dropped Seiichi?... maybe? They're not sure.
