| I enjoyed this more than the first episode, it made a lot more sense, though I'm still confused, if these guys are the good guys why are they seemingly capturing people and turning them into monsters? Is this supposed to be ok simply because said captured people are prisoners? |

| I couldn't help but laugh when Sano and Heisuke fell in the well. I really enjoyed the scene where Saito got Okita to eat. I still think Okita is getting some of the best moments in this OVA. |

(Apologies in advance if you have already played the otome game or watched the rest of the series since posting this or you otherwise already have the answer) It’s a bit morally ambiguous, I guess, but the Shinsengumi are involved in secret research for the shogunate into the Water of Life serum. They don't capture people to experiment on them, though. They test it ok their own men, particularly men who have violated their rules and would otherwise have to commit seppuku. The men are kept locked up so they don't kill anyone, since they become murderous and thirst for blood after drinking it. |
