THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
It's kinda weird being away from the Aquarium. Kukuru is dealing it with rather well and seems to be even in a good mood. That's great for her since she also has a lot of funs and is always cherry when they're around.

Seems this is a transition episode with the story expanding beyond Kukuru's recent lifestyle. It's not an easy life for her but I think she can adapt.

The 2nd Cour starts here, and Aqaurium Tingaara's grand opening with it on with most of the Gama Gama staff onboard. GANBATTE Kukuru and the rest, it's not gonna be easy transitioning into new positions.

ARCANA PROJECT's 2nd OP was fine (I like the 1st Cour better), and Risa Aizawa's 2nd Cour ED is better.

Kukuru is back with a new job, and it's not taking care of the aquarium, but being a project PR business marketer instead. Aren't surprised that she's totally taken by surprise of handling a role other than being an on-site attendant. Tingaara is much bigger than Gama Gama, and everything turns into corporate business. Everybody else gets the same corporate treatment so it's all fair game.

Thankfully most of the sea creatures were hauled from Gama Gama to Tingaara (plus many others externally), so the feeling is mutual, just on a bigger scale (that still excites Kukuru). But of course, the intern that came to Gama Gama back then (Haebaru Chiyu) is on a higher position than Kukuru, and the annoyance continues its spite.

Taking into stride business compliances with new people (Chief caretaker Kaoru Shimabukuro on fish, new hire breeder Eiji Higa and Marina Yonekura on penguins, calm breeder Bondo Garandо, office part-time worker Akari Maeda and emotionless assistant director Tetsuji Suwa), and Kukuru is already feeling the crunch to do things that she didn't want to do.

Without Fuuka around, and Kukuru feels lonely...not. But what a surprise to see Fuuka come back though, I wanna see how would Fuuka help Kukuru to transition into her new life stage.

Still though, what a good start to the 2nd Cour.

So, has the show really turned into a mix of Sakura Quest and Nagi no Asukara? Hmm, that was kind of embarrassing after all my jokes about it. But well, it looks like PAWORKS really love doing anime about working girls.

So we got a little bit of a time skip here as it was expected (and shown in the episode preview kek), Kukuru in her new job. First day seemed like a little disaster not gonna lie lol, but shes stubborn enough to get through it and find her place in this new big world.

Also compared to all the doomers from ANN or MAL, i really like how we moved the story into this new stage, its more interesting and there is also more room for other stuff. Like what were you expecting to happen ? Dan Bilzerian coming in hot, bailing out the aquarium ? lmao get real.

No, just because both feature water, it does not make them similar.

Well, both shows are created by the same people and both shows use the first cour as a prologue that outlines the problems for the second. Moreover, in both shows, the characters "disappeared" after the first cour.

Well looks like Kukuru is having a hard time with her new job and it seems some of her coworkers aren't helping especially one that didn't like her from her previous job.
I hope things will work out for her eventually, and it seem Fuuka might be of help with that.
I was missing Fuuka the entire episode but it was nice to see her at the end.

It was a good start to the second cour. I like the new OP and ED. Those new characters are pretty interesting as well.

Although everything isn't going smoothly with Kukuru's new job, at least the future looks much more promising for her at the moment.

Fuuka's come back was a nice surprise.

Interesting start to the new cour, kukuru is really missing her old life of gama gama especially with Fuuka not being there -surprise surprise she comes back at the end of the episode- but I guess this episode is a set up for another eventual problem to overcome, especially since kukurus new job is pretty different from gama gama. I think moving on was the point of this episode, and slowly getting used to things as they come rather than wanting the past to return, as reminiscing about the past isn’t going to change the future but I feel like I’m reading too much into it because of sonny boys ending lmao

Probably gonna be an unpopular opinion but i wish kukuru and fuuka would’ve spent more time apart from each other so that Kukuru could continue to grow on her own two feet. Eventually at some point they’ll be apart so it’s important to be able to confront adversity like working in a new job and having coworkers you don’t like on your own.

I like the visuals for the new op but the song isn’t that good, maybe it’ll grow on me. But the ED is great as usual.

yeeeeaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rikyako Fuuka is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the working world. It was a very tough time for OL Kukuru and the sales department of Tingara.

Well, in my opinion, The one behind who putting Kukuru in the sales department is her grandpa, everything was planned. He wants Kukuru to be more professional, know more about aquarium management, and understand the whole organizational structure of a big aquarium. She needs to know more about them not only just feeding fish. She got the potential to be the next aquarium manager.

Edit: Adding OP and ED. Which I think the ED is better.

That was a great timeskip, I can see Tingaara being a training/learning arc for Kukuru and she'll later reopen Gama Gama later.

Just slightly annoyed that Fuuka came back to the spotlight that soon, would have liked to see Kukuru struggle and overcome the harsh working conditions on her own for a bit

After seeing Kukuru in casual wear for so long its funny seeing her in smarter clothes. Its nice that much of the staff for Gama ended up joining Tingaara though. Though assigning her to PR was probably not what she had in mind. The new opening was pretty nice though. Nice to see Karin as part of the staff as well. Still Kukuru sure has a tough trainer from day one. But have to admire his ambition though. The scale of Tingaara though is a nice surprise. Despite her attitude its nice to see Chiyu again. Looks like since Gama's closing that everyone's changed jobs with even Tsukimi doing so as well. Overall an interesting ep that kinda felt like a combination if a soft reboot and a continuation of the teams journey to be effective attendants and staff members trying to achieve their dream. While putting Kukuru in PR wouldn't have been my first choice from a leadership point of view it does make sense as she can serve to learn more from others. Starting from zero is never easy but gives the perfect opportunity to mature as a person. I hope that Kukuru is able to overcome her trials while forming lasting bonds with the new cast. The new ending theme though was pretty nice as well very grand. Nice to see Fuuka return though.

So we got a timeskip and Kukuru's finally a working adult alongside the other Gama Gama staff who are also working at Tingarla. Thou unfortunately for Kukuru work's not going well at all but Fuuka's here. I was so worried that we might not see her much in second cour but I'm glad that won't be the case. Heck Fuuka and Kukuru will also be living in same aprtment it seems (shown in the OP). Also Tingarla is a really beautiful aquarium.

Great start to second cour, looking forward to more.

Seriously, one who loves fishes and sea animals at any cost, should be on animal handling, and not ones like Chiyu (seriously hating her attitude)

Completely agree. Was a bit disappointed that she comes back so early and kinda randomly.

Although at first an odd choice for Kukuru, I think the boss of the aquarium gave her a great opportunity here. For Gama Gama she already did several PR jobs on a smaller scale and she can deal well with customers. It also opens up the opportunity to work together with all the areas of the aquarium during events and use her knowledge.
On the other hand, if she would take care of the animals, which seems more immediately appealing to her, she would have little influence in such a large house. Also she would only work with few of the species as the teams are probably specialised in certain areas, which might also not be to her liking.

Guess I had the privilege to work with nice bosses up till now, because he pretty much set her up to fail by dumping many documents on a fresh worker and not even telling her that an event will happen that she needs to take care of immediately.

I like how hardass everyone is to Kukuru, when someone desperate couldn't even handle 2 days working.
Kukuru is doing a great job to someone that people don't want to train. And help that Kukuru isn't aggressive enough to reply " Do your damn job, and read the damn work e-mail if you are serious".

Fuuka appearance was straight out romance movie, hair at the wind, high ground, and wonderful beach at night. I just imagine Fuuka saying "Why are you crying my penguin.", my heart probably wouldn't handle.

The second half has begun and Kukuru has now begun her working adult life at Tingaara Aquarium. Unfortunately for her, she has been placed in the marketing PR department, which was something she didn't want at all.

I can see the main director's choice of placing her in there as he believes she'll do a great job in the long run, but as expected, things got tough for Kukuru right from the get go. Dealing with other departments that don't communicate with each other properly, other staff that act rather unfriendly and snobbish (looking at you specifically, Chiyu) and doing odd jobs that she shouldn't be doing, Kukuru has it a bit rough. Her department boss calling her knowledge of her past time at Gama Gama as half assed and worthless was pushing it, which highlights his own issues slightly, but he's right to say that Kukuru isn't in charge like she was before, so she'll have to work hard to climb up that ladder at Tingaara.

Eiji got it spot on when he said to Kai after his observations of the struggles around him, that "This is why I hate humans." He's not wrong about that, but at least he and Kai are getting along well. =)

Thankfully, when Kukuru was on the beach, wallowing in sadness and frustration, Fuuka made her returning appearance and their reunion together was sweet. Having Fuuka coming back now was sooner that expected, but having her here will be a huge boost for Kukuru's morale.

The new OP from Arcana Project was nice, probably better than their 1st cour song, while the new ED song was great, but it doesn't beat Mia REGINA's excellent ED song from before, which still remains one of my favourite ED songs this year.

Overall, this episode was very good and it didn't hold back in showing how tough and frustrating it can be when you work well out your comfort zone. I do hope Kukuru will start to get better at her job now and have Fuuka join her soon enough. =)

An OK episode to star the second cour.

It felt a little awkward to see everybody from the first cour just magically all working at the new aquarium/city (including Karin), but I guess that's necessary to continue with this story. I don't necessary hate the new workplace drama plot that they are going for, but Kukuru's both needs to chill down a little bit. You can't be calling people plankton at your work; that's a sure way to get fired for workplace harassment.

The reunion with Fuuka at the end was nice. Will be curious to see what her role is in the second cour.

Looks like you do not get a point here.

Kukuru now behaves the same way Chiyu behaved during her practice in Gama-Gama. She was put there she is to learn things she is lacking. Both her grandpa and Tingaara director clearly see her as an aquarium director in future, but she should learn marketing and administrative side of the process for it. Just being good communicating with staff and taking care of animasls/facilities is not enough for it.

Also, it is funny how a lot of people were complaining that Fuuka will not be in part 2 after the PV, but now everyone complains she returned her to fast.

Well, this was a frustrating start of the second cour.

I swear, I already don't like hate some of the new characters that got introduced this episode. Putting aside that he was partly correct on what he was saying, but Kukuru's boss is an absolute ass. He felt so lax in guiding Kukuru on her first day, failed to mention about the event she had to work on immediately and when she gets around to it, Bitch-senpai is also being a pain in the ass, cause they don't read fucking emails. Her attitude was in particular nasty, especially when she was mocking Kukuru. Also, giving Kukuru the nickname Plankton seemed so uncalled for, pretty bad example from a boss. Wow, why is this infuriating me so much.

Either way, I have seen a couple of signs that is going to be pretty problematic in this aquarium with Chiya in the center of it and it seems that the new boy Eiji has already noticed this as well. His "This is why I hate humans" applies to some of the new cast. Atleast Kai did find someone he gets along with nicely.

Umi-yan and his ice pops though, good thing they kept that in.

Fuuka is back!! Pretty soon, but I am looking forward to more Kukuru & Fuuka moments. I wonder if and where Fuuka will be posted in Tingaara.

Bruh I was deadass cringing when Kukuru, on her first day no less, decides to talk back to her unfriendly and super serious boss. The same boss that is going to guide her through the job because they don't have enough staff in their sector at the moment. Like girl, what you trying to get fired on your first day???? It really shows how she is still a kid (Kai saying the magic words and those resonating with Kukuru really helped, is nice to see her grow on her own... not because Fuuka got randomly shoved into the series again, sigh).

I hope Kukuru gets to grow as a character but seeing the opening and how they ended this episode, something tells me Fuuka is going to persist as her emotional crutch. I wonder If this means Fuuka decided to pick a job at Tingaala too so Kukuru doesn't have to worry about growing tf up with her bishoujo sister around.

unfornately kukuru is gonna work with a shitty supervisor. seriously having a great working environment all depends to who you work for. in the first day this dipshit already power harassed kukuru. since she's a rookie in this comapny regardless of her previous work experience, dipshit as a manager is supposed to provide proper training and safety instructions to newcomers.

This episode made me so sad. I understand Kukuru needs to grow and this is actually a good opportunity for her, but I hate how she is just thrown in there with no explanation. I hate the workplace abuse (which sadly is very normalized), and the worker's attitudes. Chiyu is horrible.

I know things will work out, but I felt so sad for Kukuru. I also don't see anything wrong with the returning to work with the animals. Yes, she might eventually be good in marketing, but why can't she keep working for the sector she feels passionate about? There are still growth opportunities there since it is a much bigger aquarium.

I felt that Karin could have been more understanding of Kukuru too. Anyway I'm sure everything will be alright I just felt so sad!

Can't wait so see how they redeem Chiyu...

From the OP, I suspect Fuuka is going to be put in with the penguins, which (based on the book she was taking home) is likely the job Chiyu wants.

Pretty much each and everything is new for Kukuru here, it will take some time for her to set herself in this new work environment.

Lot of new characters and most of them seemed to be some sort of arrogant, but well you have to deal with them on your own. OP and ED both are decent but I still prefer the first cour one's.

And looks like Fuuka too is here at last, will be interesting to see what role she will have there.

I agree Kukuru needs a wake up call but damn being thrown into the work place without proper training and expected to be on the ball, That's harsh. But then again she did scold Fuuka quite badly too so it's not unwarranted. Still Chiyu and some of the other staff need a reality check too. Assholes don't like it when someone stands up for themselves.

Hooray! Fuuka wasn't banished into the shadow realm lmao. I don't know why they didn't include her in the key visuals and previews if she's gonna come back this early. Not that I am complaining, I am super glad she's back early.

This episode is too real though damn. I was just thinking throughout the episode that Kukuru really needs Fuuka right now. I am glad Maeda the part timer and Eiji the white haired glasses dude are nice. While Chiyu is salty and real as always. Great start to the second cour, really looking forward to the next episode.

Also new OP and ED are bangers, probably just as good as the first ones.
