| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Well that was an okay start. Too much happened in one chapter and the plot is pretty generic but this seems interesting enough and hopefully it will get better. I like the protag, he can avoid really well which is a great ability. The priest and his daughter seems like amusing people too. Abyway good to have Matsui Yuusei sensei back in Jump. |

| The only thing I didn’t like about this was the meta narrator. That was cringe as fuck Otherwise, quite a weird first chapter. Weird interactions, weird characters, weird dialogues. Also, I’m not sure what’s happened, I kinda got lost tbh. Too many names to remember. So the father betrayed the empire or something and then killed everyone? Did he also die? I don’t know what’s going on lol Art was fantastic This can get either horribly bad or exceptionally good. Let’s see what this story has in store for us |

| It started very well. Let's see how Matsui-sensei does this story because I really liked Ansatsu Kyoshitsu too much and it will be interesting to follow his new manga. |
| While the chapter did sort of feel like a mash of other manga combined into one, I liked art and the main character. I hope that the story is as strong moving forwards as Assassination Classroom's story was. I am not quite feeling the side characters yet, but I am pretty confident that they will become more interesting and developed soon. The backstory sort of gives off the vibes of a major epic story, so hopefully that isn't fumbled. All in all, decent first chapter which has some potential, but first needs to find its own identity to stand out from other manga. Looking forward to how the aptly named "The Elusive Samurai" will proceed moving forward. |

| This all seems familiar. Since this is apparently based on real history I'm wondering if I heard it mentioned in another series. This first chapter was whatever, but it was pretty much just set up, so we'll see. |

When the Hojo's clan died you can see the faces from the presentation of each. If you get kinda lost you can read the wikipedia article of Hojo Tokiyuki (the protagonist) or his father's article. They were real people. Well now I know how this will end... his wikipedia page is really short (jap. ver. also) but if everything is acquired and if author will not go into alternate history it will be kinda sad story. |

I think the joke is that it's not the real story from now on, tho I dunno, maybe I missed this joke because for now it seems author is following real history (with adding some shounen elements). MC also fled to Suwa Yorishige from Shinano Province and also have plan to return to Kamakura in 2 years like real Tokiyuki did. Probable battle from the beginning is battle from 1335, which he lost. |

| Matsui Yuusei is back in the magazine with a historical manga. Not gonna lie the story moves at a pretty fast pace but nonetheless, it was a pretty decent start. The art is good and the MC is pretty interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing where this will go! |
| Honestly, it caught me by surprise; suddenly, I was 7 again watching Rounorin Kenshin for the first time. I only later realised the characters looked so familiar, it was then I realised it was from the same Mangaka as Assassination. classroom |

| How am I just finding this? Glad to see this mangaka back at it again and with something completely different from AC. The premise of this manga seems really intriguing, but I'm skeptical at how he's going to present this since we already know this era of history and how the MC didn't stop the Ashikaga Shogunate from taking power. This will definitely be interesting for sure. I'm really looking forward to this manga particularly for the setting (and the art of course). Most historical mangas I've read or heard about are either about the Edo period and the Meiji Restoration mostly. Some about the Sengoku period and more specifically, the Azuchi-Momoyama period. I haven't really seen any mangas set during the Kamakura or Muromachi period, so this should be cool. |

| the same mangaka of Assassination Classroom aka a$$ class . the same magazine weekly shonen jump aka weekly shonen dump . the same girly twink main character , just like Nagisa Shiota . my review of a$$ class : https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=459123 about chapter 1 of this samurai manga : so the main brat is good at getting away , he can move at the speed of mach 20 just like a certain tentacle alien , lol . page 15 : er no , a normal human can not hide in a box for 2 days without food , water , going to the toilet . in page 25 : a ball is rolling . and then in the next page , a head is rolling , lol . - kid : i dont want to kneel on the hard ground that has many sharp stones . - soldiers : ok then , you can kneel on this comfortable mat . now stay still so we can chop off your head , lol . 1 problem of this manga is the sudden , extreme change of tone : from a kiddy manga to the berserk manga : murdering kids , r@ping kids , torturing , eating human flesh , playing with corpses , burning houses , etc etc , ..... page 48 : a small , weak 5-years-old kid has the mental strength and physical strength and skills to kill many big , strong adults . yeah right , the mangaka should write something more believe-able next time . |
