| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- I sang the praises of this arc already, so I'll skip it this time. It was fun and impressed me! And I found the continual theme of education super funny. Trivia in general is a knowledge based game, then we have numerous math based questions, one of deducing the surface era of the earth and the volume of the ocean, and it's won with measurements too. As if Zero will give you as much as you put in, we can leave as intelligent kids if we want. That's cute. A complaint my friend brought up was also interesting. Similar to One Poker in Kaiji, the way Fukumoto writes machinery can have holes. She mentioned how the designers of this contraption may feel incompetent because, with how much people lose this game already, it's likely that this problem must have been relevant before this. Instead the maximum length of the pendulum should have been locked at a certain number before hitting the platform. I don't mind this problem, but I find the pattern of this form of machinery writing endearing. Oh, Fukumoto. I also like the fact that Zero doesn't blame those less skillful than he, he takes into account what they are capable of and doesn't expect anything more, rather using their feats to his benefit. That's a good mentality to have to be productive in groups. Now, the real test for Zero, can this good boy cut the line?! Can he be.. audible gasp rude?!! |
