| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Murota is not a one trick pony. He is a man of, keyword, experience. It’s created a dynamic of the young and the old, and I surprising like this guy. He gets some enjoyment out of seeing the new blood play, describing him as trying to use too much logic and wit; and he alluded to being that way in the past too, but he also recognizes his game feel and skill; suggesting that he may be surpassed by Hiroyuki one day. However, when Hiroyuki gets more experience won’t cut it, he has to somehow win now! He totally should have taken that offer to wear sunglasses, one because Murota is great at tracking the subtle movements of Hiro’s eyes, but two because he’d look cool with them on. We saw the subconscious habit tracking with Hiroyuki at the helm when he played Muraishi, but this is a different beast. Perhaps he could play into it though by giving him fake signals. By the way, I like the breaks we got during this and last gamble. To see both sides of the game in a moment of down time and planning is nice. |
| Just take the dang sunglasses already! It's not like it could hurt (assuming there's good enough lighting in this building to still see clearly). Though I am only playing Mahjong mostly with online clients, where such things as "tells" like flipping the manzu are not a factor to consider, I can still feel how I am slowly gaining experience. Probably not as fast as I should, but it is true that certain things can only be learned by doing it a lot. I like this match so far! It deals with a different aspect of the game than the match before and has a unique opponent. |
