| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- This chapter being so focused on Kazusa made it the simplest read yet. Firstly, the scene about picking out alternates to “sex” was hysterical to me. I especially liked “macculate conception” and Kazusa’s vowel changes. Of course, seeing Sonezaki make up her own “literary term” and proudly announce it only for it to spell out “S E X” was nice too. But the most important part was that Sonezaki can’t get Amagi off her mind, she’s blaming him for falling into the insidious wiles of sex! Maybe not even realizing what she was doing until Kazusa asked about it. All ending with… the principle listening in from outside. It was fitting to start on some of Izumi and Kazusa’s best moments because this chapter was about solidifying feelings. I suppose it was obvious that Kazusa didn’t understand her feelings but I hadn’t realized just how little she did. She gets caught up thinking of sex and Izumi. She didn’t understand the shift in her feelings between little brother Izumi and this handsome boy he’s become. And of course, she feels jealousy. Sugawara caught on and chose to help out and be the big sister culminating in that great filming scene. Specifically Sugawara filming the entire thing due to her inner camera man until the others ran off was hilarious. She’s bold like Hongou, just in her own ways. I do hope Kazusa doesn’t read too much into the “there’s no one I like” line. Izumi did hesitate and I think it’s clear both have feelings for each other.. As for the river scene.. Sugawara-shi you genius… Played her right into your hand. Sex and love are pretty inseparable at this age I guess and Sugawara’s question was amazing. “If you had to do it with someone or the world would end, who would it be”? A brilliant way to make Kazusa understand her own feelings, it’s beautiful. A super charming way to phrase that question too. The person you would do it with to save the world is the one you love… Shoutout to Momoko too, she didn’t do a ton but she stayed with Kazusa the whole time! Celebrated when Izumi rejected Asada, and then chased her out to calm her down, staying with Kazusa the whole time. I loved Momoko’s face when Sugawara mentioned the STD, and when she said “you even know how boys think, you’re amazing”! Great enthusiasm.. Lastly, two things. In Hongou’s profile she is blushing!!! She looks really cute there. Also, the tie around to come back to using Kazusa’s dying words “es ii cross” was great. Kazusa is getting some love sickness like Hancock did in One Piece. |
