certainly better than the previous one, because it had a content that had substance. Siddhartha finally reaching his high enlightment, he sure endured a lot on his training from losing Asaji to healing Megaila. As for Asaji he was such a lovely boy, I really crossed my fingers that he wouldn't die but I guess you can't have everything.

I'm glad to see Tatta all grown up and alive. I see also the Prince changed his ways thanks to Buddha, but he changed after the death of his mother. I guess he was the one that killed her, but he suffered in the end though. Yatala was more of a son than him.

Cool movie.

8/10.

This movie was more boring than the first one.
First movie had something like 2 contrasting people - Siddhartha and chapra story. But by the end of the movie, chapra story felt like a filler content with no meaning to overall story. But still it was interesting to watch
In this movie, story was all over the place. Random character comes with poor introduction and becomes part of some random poorly made stories. Virudhaka's story felt like poorly done copy of chapra story. Also Bimbisara (the guy who was prophesied to be killed by son) story was forgetten entirely. Actually, I thought virudhaka was supposed to be bimbisara son untill virudhaka father showed up for a cameo of 1 sec.
On top of all this, it was boring to watch.
I am sure the manga would be a better made story and this is just a poor adaption.
Overall I realized, I am not interested in these kind of story even if it is well made (rabbit jumping in fire to be food of human and asaji jumping to be dinner of wolfs...yeah, not really my thing.) Just watched because I wanted to check out Osamu tezuka works without going in too deep. These buddha movies felt like it would work, but it was a disappointing entry.

2nd movie >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 1st movie. A grown Tatta was more mature and everyone was less pawn and tools and more about going through suffering. I cry for Yatala and the Prince and their mom, after all the lives they taken they still have a purpose and a mother for them and it end for them. Very Very sad. Chapra completely forgot his mother and Tatta until the end before rip. New cool characters like Asaaji and the one eyed monk. Siddhartha spread his teachings and became Buddha with some enlightenment powers. Completely understand it was because of the first movie that Siddhartha could've gone the mile in the second movie.

10/10
