Kira looks good in that suit and tie with his hair style this episode. Josuke, you got competition Not bad after that drama with Hayato.

I love the mind games play he plays with Hayato right in plain sight. Another One Bites the Dust is one of the most thrilling arcs imo and I'm glad the anime captured the thrill of that. Nice to see Rohan this episode as well with his talent. That Kira hair!

The Narrator really went out of his way to explain what Bites The Dust is. I forget if it was like that in the manga or not.

Oh look another time related power for the main antagonist, it's almost as if there's a pattern here, it will probably be controversial to some people, I don't mind villains learning new abilities on or off screen, but the timing, circumstances and ability itself are kinda too convenient. Either way you should get used to arrow power ups.
It's better than getting a power up in the middle of a fight.
Hayato is stuck in a loop and can't tell anyone about Kira.
That Zeppeli/Kakyoin moment for Rohan, except he didn't accomplish what he was trying to do (tell Jotaro and Koichi) in his last dying breath.
The animation looked better than the standard for the anime, I'm glad they're putting their budget into making this look good.

The arrow "chooses" people who are in need/worthy of its power. It doesn't care if the person is a villain or hero. If they have the will, they will be granted power. This is evident by the fact that the arrow immediately pierces him when Kira says "I will never leave Morioh!" The arrow also gives very situational powers. I never felt it was convenient. Kira's strong will and resolve allowed him to mature and be granted a power from the arrow. His maturity is shown not only in his character but also in his new ability and white hair(symbolizing him growing older and becoming more mature) One of the points I made comes up in Part 5, but I won't dwell on it because that would be a spoiler for Anime onlys.

Much like with Yoshihiro's Stand Users, the arrow chose to power up Kira due to his resolve. It's kind of like how Koichi's Acts work in that anyone who gets a significant change in resolve or personality ends up affecting their Stand.

The ability also isn't that convenient given that it's an extension of Killer Queen's existing skill set. Kira's ability lets him kill people and erase evidence. What better way to do that than resetting time to before people find out about your crimes?

To be fair, Caesar didn't really accomplish much with his death either aside from get his headband to Joseph, which Joseph could have just taken from his body or something if Araki wanted to go that angle.

Joseph didn't drink the antidote until after he'd already defeated Wamuu.

True, but I wanted to dispel the notion that because A is convenient A is bad. In stories, it seems being convenient has a very strong negative connotation and people blame the writer for not trying or taking the easy way out. Yea his power is convenient, but it's not out of the blue.

"Convenient Powers"

that is exactly why the arrow choose him - to have the convenient powers that he wants. It's the arrow's will. More answers will come in part 5 about the "convenient powers".

Great episode! And this is just the first episode of this arc! Also, rest in pieces, Rohan.
I feel conflicted. On one hand, I love the fact that Kira is fighting back. On the other hand, I don't want to see another Shigechi death.

Waking up in the morning, feeling confident and refreshed, getting ready to go to work, looking at how good my new hairstyle is, and then realizing that my boy just blew up one of my enemies. FeelsGoodMan.

Yea, but people still aren't sure about Rohan's death. Rohan may or may not be dead because Bites the Dust isn't fully explained in this episode. However, my concern is that the episode was a tad slow, and I"m worried that DP will have to rush the next episodes to finish the part. I do have faith in DP though.

Wow. I had seen Bite the Dust mentioned many times, but didn't know what it actually did (I commend the fandom for being so good with spoilers). I had some theories, but the last thing I expected was a goddamn Groundhog Day bomb that has the most convenient trigger imaginable. Pretty cool.

I was also surprised that The Arrow actually gave Bite the Dust to Kira. I expected it to be some super secret ability that he was just saving for the most desperate situation (though I guess then we'd already seen him use it before the face swap).

Great episode, rohans death was pretty savage and well done.
This episode made me gasp a few times lol.
Kira biting his fingers was making me really cringe haha.

Kiras new ability is kinda like a personal Brinks home security but for his identity and well-being.
Breach my home/identity, beep beep booooooooom bye.

More time warp stuff hmm.... i honestly cant wait for Jotaro to 1vs1 kira if it happens (idnt read the manga so idk). But josuke vs kira would be hype as well

This anime is so edgy when it wants to be with those amazing color palettes.

Hayato sure had Yoshikage in a pinch there. He had no other option but to kill him. And then the situation turns really desperate since the Jojos and co are planning on visiting the Kawajiri's for Hayato and no Hayato would confirm their suspicions. So Yoshikage gains this weird ass power where anyone who tries learning anything about Yoshikage from the boy gets blown up and time goes back an hour. That's one convenient power he has there lol.

And poor Rohan has to deal with the most shittiest stuff out there. A stand sucks his nutrition, his house gets burned, a stand piggyback rides him, and now he's meeting Hayato first and he gets blown up. Poor guy. He has been close to dying so much and now he actually died lol (although time went back anyway). But will Rohan remember this encounter? I mean, he was the one who died so will he get that deja vu feeling when he comes close to dying or does that only happen with Hayato?

Not really, I think it's a good amount. Keep in mind, fights in Jojo aren't just straght up slugfests, and Kira is the main villian of Part 4. It would be kinda lame if he got knocked out in just 1-2 episodes.

While this episode was excellent, why the slower pacing all of a sudden? I thought at a minimum they would get through 4 chapters but they only managed to do 3 1/2. With 4 episodes left I have to wonder how they're going to handle this. It'd be great if the final episode was double length, but I'm not sure how likely that is.

As much as i liked the concept of the timeloop, i hate how this all happened because they are juggling around with powers. Why did nobody stop Okuyasu to open up the photo. Why didnt jotaro stop time to prevent that, or letting him escape happen?

If the arrow was seeking worthy people, why didnt it choose Hayato. That kid is a genius, even now. He had REALLY strong resolve to protect his mom. I dare to say even stronger than kira's resolve to hide.

The kid went against something way beyond him and even though he was scared shitless (who wouldnt), he did stood against Kira.

Jotaro-tachi conveniently doesnt look any direction, not even when Rohan is there, around 10 meters away. Not to mention car is there, too.

Hayato experienced future, got sent back in the past. Yet there was no information about the fact that he got:

►in time loop (kira told him that)
►the fact that he is got some bomb planted on him

If he was unconscious when he was being read by Rohan, how would Hayato know about all the events? - Sneeze, laugh, lightning strike, etc

He KNEW about rohan, so the book should have read blew rohan up not "just" killed.

This episode was fucking stupid, plot convenience ruined it.
And second time: i cannot move past the fact that they pulled "okuyasu is stupid, so he pulls stupid shit" card with the polaroid. If he really is that incompetent, why the fuck would you leave the guy to watch over the photo....
As soon they put the f*kin thing on the wall, i was like "okay, i give okuyasu 2 minutes before opening it up" - i was not disappointed

There were so many thing that they could have done. Like, Josuke...rip a tiny but of the paper off, so if he manages to escape, you could repair it, and have it return to you. (or, have the tiny bit act as a homing piece to track it down.
I'm sad.

PS:
Also, deducting points for forced "as if you knew it would happen"... nobody talks like that, especially when you trip, and falling shit is expected.

It isn't the anime being edgy, it's because Araki(the author of JoJo) said that there aren't any canon colors in JoJo. Sometimes Koichi is portrayed with blonde hair, other times he gets grey hair, and other time his hair is blue.

They adapted 3 and a half chapters of AOBTD in this episode, way slower than the normal pace for this series. Hopefully they don't adapt the rest of AOBTD in one chapter since there's 6 and a half chapters left. They honestly should've tried to fit in 5 chapters and skip OP and ED.

Great episode though. Some of the art quality was iffy, but the whole Rohan blowing up scene had good animations plus good direction. Music is great as always and Kira's seiyuu is awesome. I really loved the time-loop concept when I read the manga and it's done really well in this episode. Next episode should be even more fun. Hayato's a great kid though and he'll get more interesting later on. But Rohan exploding was so well done and the OST helped too.

You know, putting logic and JoJo together is not a good idea. Even in the previous part, characters make stupid decisions just for the sake of plot convenience. There's a lot of nitpicking we can to to this whole franchise, like how for plot convenience, Stands were introduced to this series. If you start to look for logic in JoJo, you're gonna have a hard time when Part 5 gets an adaptation because it just works.

It actually kind of is. Characters have demonstrated outrageous thought processes, ones we would have "never think about" - same characters are making stupid mistakes, and even worse, things happen, or wont happen (wont HAPPEN to look >that< way, etc)

I can mark down some situations to "not thinking clearly under pressure and life threatening situation", but there are times when its just too obvious. It doesnt make Jojo bad, or make me hate it, i just wish it wasnt for these antics. It just one of my pet peeves, a bit of a spot on an otherwise good show :)

Why is there this conception in the Jojo community that logic and Jojo don't get along? I found Jojo to be smart, creative, and abstract. King Crimson is really not that hard to explain, and all the themes, morals, and motifs make using logic and analyzing Jojo a very fun and amazing thing to do. Jojo is a fun show, but people forget that there is sustenance and meat to it too.

I'm sad.

PS:
Also, deducting points for forced "as if you knew it would happen"... nobody talks like that, especially when you trip, and falling shit is expected.

<Sigh>

Ok....

1. Hayato was already dead when Kira's dad came into the house with the arrow. When Hayato was alive and showed his resolve, the arrow was nowhere close to him.

2. It is implied in the next chapters in the manga that Hayato already experienced the morning once before and we just didn't see it.

3. It is also implied that Kira planted the bomb onto Hayato when he got pierced by the arrow, revived him, or more likely that he rewinded time before Hayato died and allowed for time to progress until the morning of the next day.

4. Contrary to what standard Shonen series have you believe, people aren't perfect. They are not going to come up with the perfect plan or do the perfect thing every single time.

5. So you're mad because the show stayed true to the character's personality that was established at the beginning.

6. Does it really matter if it says "blow up" versus "kill?"

7. This is fiction. Of course some people aren't going to be 100% realistic (although I would say Jojo does a good job with making the characters realistic in personality and such) Dialogue is crafted to give off a certain aspect and feel.

8. Things have their flaws, yes, but just focusing on them makes you narrow minded. I feel this episode was great and DP is doing an amazing job. Araki did a great job with this arc too.

I don't mean to be rude, but I will stand by the fact that this arc is superb. There's so many amazing things that happen with the characters.

@Snoux Are you that same person who ignored me giving you my explanation that the episode with Okuyasu falling for Yoshihiro's ruse was rushed & didn't follow through with everything in the manga?

Unless this is something like Naruto or One Piece, an anime will NOT be able to adapt all the logistics from the source material as precisely as they can.

Always remember that anime is a niche medium in Japan. Manga sells way better
