| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- She hit her?! Whaaaaaat?! The shadow girls thing was very obvious. I liked it a lot. Having only seen the second arc of this series, I am finding out so many interesting, important things about the characters in these first episodes. My favorite episode of the first arc so far. |

| The shadow girls' play left me feeling 'Huh?' until the very last line, "You actually want to go, don't you?" Wonderfully done. As much as Juri tries to debunk miracles, she really really wants one. I also like how the revelation about Juri's love is done at the end of the episode. Anyone who's watched the series through before At any rate, I really liked this episode, up to the student council meeting where Miki miraculously survived Touga's knives XD |

| Touga + Miki knive-throwing scene is funny, no matter how many knives Touga throw, his left hand still holding 4 :) have guessed about Jury's real feeling, and that girl was actually right when she told the guy that Jury like someone but not him Utena possess the luck of Level 99, even people stronger than her can be defeated by her... miracle? |

| So, we actually get a true to the name love triangle Juri loves the girl the girl loves the guy and the guy loves Juri. Wonder if this will come back in future eps. |

| Well, I am going to be really original and say that I thought this episode was great (haha). The story of this episode was just really well done - and the revelation at the end, even if it was kind of expected, added a nice twist to Juri's background. And, I loved the little bit with Touga, Miki, and the throwing knives. Also, I am interested in learning more about the shadow girls. I like their little scenes and they are thematically linked to each episode; but they are still separated from the main events so far. |
| I loved the bit with Miki, Touga, and the knives. It's amazing how this series can fold humor into drama so easily. Favorite bit has to be Juri's flashbacks, though. My thought process went something like this: "Juri's in love with a girl? Awesome!" "Awww, no, it was the guy." "Wow. That girl's kind of a bitch." "Wait, so she *is* in love with the girl? Awesome!" I can't help but love gay relationships in anime. The tragic love triangle just makes it better. |

| Great fight, but I especially liked the Juri backstory scene. The imagery was really effective in showing her feelings of betrayal and anger. She's evil but I also sympathize with her. |

| i was always confused at the strange activities in the student council. i think touga's knives were meant to represent his words hurting juri or making her angry. the subs i watched did not translate the kanji on the board so i'm not sure. i noticed the way himemiya offered juri the rose was the same way purple girl did. i don't know if this was purposeful, since they've reused models and animations before. if it was on purpose, i wonder how himemiya knew. |

| Loved the part with Touga's knives and Miki. I need a GIF of that. :) And Juri's background was interesting, and a little sad. And I also just noticed (Japanese version)....Juri is Sailor Moon and Miki is Sailor Mercury. HELL. YES. |

| Has anyone counted the times Anthy's gotten slapped? It's like at least every other episode. Apparent yuri came out of nowhere. |
| Loved Juri's backstory and i knew it was the girl she was in love with instead of the boy(her dressing a man and this show being Yuri themed made it easir to deduce). The treating Anthy is starting to piss me off though. Overall great episode and it keeps getting better and better. My fav characters so far are Utena and Mickey. |
| Saw the Juri/Yuri pun coming a mile away. So far this was easily the best fight in the series, hopefully we get a round 2. |

| Finally get an episode to learn more about Juri. I'd normally be upset and call that kind of ending a cop out but in context it was actually really cool and shows that there might actually be miracles in this world. |

| Poor Juri got her crush stolen by some other bitch, which is why she's lost all faith in "miracles". Seeing her lash out at Utena and try to rip the rose seal off from her was definitely shocking. Utena's won four battles now, this last one by some kind of amazing miracle. Is this a sign that she's truly meant to "revolutionize the world"...whatever that means? (Of course it is, the show's called Revolutionary Girl Utena.) Whoa...at the end, Juri wanted the girl the whole time :o |

| I love Tenjou but it was fun to see how Juri was basically toying with her during the duel. Each opponent is stronger than the previous, but Tenjou is always saved by Dios. I think she now noticed that the game is rigged in her favor. |
| Juri looks cool in her student council uniform, elegant lady in love with lady ;) Utena looks lame compared to her, she has too much luck (obv not skill at all) Offtopic: Anyone else wish to see Alexia Ashford from Resident Evil with elegant suit, similar to what Alfred used? Yeah as we know, Alfred liked to use her dress... but I was more interested to see it different way ;) |

| If not for the comments I don't think I'd get Juri was into yuri lol, pretty dense of me. I was sure she kept that photo of this girl to keep on hating her, or something lol. Might be my favourite ep so far, the scene of sword falling down on the rose was PERFECT :3 |
