Are you all kidding me? That was the most excited I got in anime. Mikoto and her sword Miroku were amazing...that thing can slash through anything and can follow her anywhere. Mai's powers....over 9000 if anything Kagutsuchi is over the power level of a Atomic bomb literally. Takumi got saved as a result and Mai had not choice here=>  Overall it was great action. Mashiro's lies were not right but she had no choice to rely on anyone else. |

| Her brother is such a poor character it is nearly tanking the show for me. It is like they took some ultra cliche "princess in distress" whose sole purpose is to be there for the knight to rescue when she gets in to trouble and then remade her as a 14 year old boy (no, this is not a good thing). Hopefully the series picks up as the start has been rather... underwhelming. I could do without the generic, token white haired, cold personality shota that is present in most anime as well. I do however like Mikoto. |

| That low-key foreshadowing tho "Maybe you're possessed by a demon!" "You saw!?" "Wai, what?" xD I'm liking the ED a lot more on the rewatch for some reason. |

| The plot thickened in this one, we now know that Mai didn’t just happen to end up being a HiME, but was actually given a scholarship so she could come and be one to help fight monsters, it’s definitely a bit messed up but I’m guessing they’re in dire need of help, now I’m just wondering why Natsuki is so opposed to others joining, there’s definitely more than meets the eye to this. And wow that dragon scene was quite awesome, that thing looks fucking sick, and one attack from it seared an entire strip of the mountain behind the school, you might say there was a “Fire on the Mountain”, needless to say there’s never a dull moment at this school lol. And Mikoto’s school uniform looks cool, hopefully she can resist not going monkey mode in class. |
