oh F That was totally mind break. Poor poor little Mutsumi. Her situation didn't get any better. On the contrary, it became worse. It was so depressing.
Let's send cucumber for Mutsumi. 🥒🥒🥒🥒🥒
Can we send them to therapy with Kasumi now?

Nyamu and Layer are neighbors and know each other!! WHAT!!

GOD PLEASE TAKE AWAY ALL MUTSUMI'S PAIN, DOUBLE IT, AND GIVE IT TO SAKIKO'S DAD INSTEAD RRRAHHHHHHH

As much as I hate how Nyamu words it, I do agree with how she thinks, except for the wanting to be popular part

On a side note, they released the full version of the ending 2 days ago!

oh man that twist with nyamu and layer being neighbors who knew each other blew my mind lol
mutsumi's plight is just awful wish we could send her some kind of relief like maybe a fun marvel movie marathon or something just saying she could probably use the break maybe throw in black panther since he's a cool rival
that therapy idea sounds good maybe add kasumi to the mix too
hope sakiko's dad gets what he deserves someday nice
agree with nyamu's thinking but popularity thing nah

I need to make sure I watch the right anime twice. This thing doesn't feel like BanG Dream at all.

Surprise surprise, Nyamu and Layer are neighbors. I always thought Nyamu would be at least older than the rest of bandori casts, but she called Layer as "senpai", is it because Layer is her senpai in the industry or Layer is older than her?

This episode is really hard to watch at first because you will see how much Mutsumi is struggling yet no one there to help her get out from the darkness. The Mutsumi's internal monologue is very great, we can see what she really think.

But the end really disturb me, does that mean Mutsumi lose her identity as Wakaba Mutsumi and adopt the more "happy" Mortis? I think she will just act like "how people want her to act like" not how her "real" self is.

Too much drama. This isn't just as interesting as the original BanG Dream! imo.

Anyway, I feel so bad for Mutsumi. I hope the situation gets better as soon as possible.

OH MY GOD! NYAMU IS SUCH A FUCKING BITCH! SOMEONE KICK HER OUT!

In the first place all of this was her fault. From going rogue by forcing everyone to remove their mask to forcing Mutsumi to do something she doesn't want to et al. She also made it clear this ep that she has zero interenst in the band and more on fame so kicking her out shouldn't be a big deal.

What in the Madoka is going on in Bandori.

Mutsumi smiling idk I find it creepy. Is the happy smiling Mortis gonna be her personality or its just an appearance to keep up so everything goes fine? reminds me of how Soyo faked it. Bring me the real Mutsumi who knows true happiness /hugs

Also Layer is neighbours with Nyamu!!
Please give them the Kira Kira Doki Doki Kasumi Therapy now, I can't take this anymore.

Mutsumi's current situation is completely messed up and now she's out of control of her emotions.

This is truly a heartbreaking episode, it's not just about one person's problem but we're talking about one member of the band, like, at this point I can't just feel sorry for Mutsumi but also for Sakiko.

But seriously about Mutsumi, I think she's overthinking and blaming herself too much, and I understand how she feels. As childhood friends, her relationship with Sakiko might not be as good as it used to be, and now that Mutsumi has changed her personality I wonder how the members and especially Sakiko will react.

Great episode

....I do want to see Mutsumi smile but not like that. The fantasy scene where her another self consumed her is really well done.

Meanwhile, conflict between Ave Mujica become is more and more intense. Sakiko and Nyamu clearly hate each other at this point. I like what they did with Nyamu character. She come off as total bitch but she got a point in everything she said.

Absolute cinema. This episode kept me breathless from start to finish.

You'd think her bandmates would realize what's wrong with Mutsumi and help her, but it keeps getting worse for her. Had mental breakdown on stage, everyone thought it was impressive acting so they want her to reenact it in subsequent performances, more sleepless nights, bandmates quarrel and on the verge of breaking up, triggering her trauma from CRYCHIC, and so on. In the end, she succumbed to her inner demons, which broke her mind and transformed her personality. Mutsumi's imagination scenes with Mortis and the dolls are very well done.

Sakiko should show more love to Mutsumi, the friend who always stays by her side. She seems to take Mutsumi for granted.

I just do not get Sakiko now. Before she was alienating people bacause she wanted to carry the burden alone and do not have them involved. Then she recognized that Mutsumi was suffering because she (Sakiko) was to focused on other matters and not on Mutsumi's situation& But what she did in the end: she blamed Mutsumi for not supporting her! WTF?

Still cannot deny that direction and voice acting was great this episode.

@Hormigo erm. We were clearly shown that Nyamu has inferiority complex which she hides and which was fueled this episode. While Uika is very insecure regarding her relationships with Sakiko (she is presumably Sakikos best friend, but Mutsumi is the only person Sakiko tries to be open with).

@Nachtwandler_21 I have missed the quotes when it comes to real problems. Let's see, Mutsumi seems to have serious psychological problems and Sakiko, we already know what she is going through in her family environment (dead mother, and And an alcoholic father. Little joke with Mutsumi and Sakiko, if this were a more adult anime this could end very badly and tragically, but being an anime for teenagers I don't think the Drama far away. Nyamu's inferiority complex and uika's insecurity towards Sakiko are nothing when it comes to Mutsumi and Sakiko's psychological problems. We will see how the story advances. greetings

This show has officially gone too far and it’s characters are disgusting, I have no idea how anyone can defend these characters; Mutsumi practically collapsed on stage and no one goes to check on her, then they proceed to accuse her of planning it. NOWHERE does ANYONE ask if she is okay, instead they decide to only care about themselves which leads Mutsumi further and further into a downward spiral until she snaps. UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLE.
I only still watch this show because of the BanG Dream label, if it wasn’t for that, I’d rage quit

@ajw215799 I think the point is that Mutsumi isn't speaking up about how she's feeling and they don't notice how bad it actually is. They probably think she froze up because she made a mistake during the concert and that's all. Not to mention that Sakiko is probably the only one who even knows anything about Mutsumi, but I guess she's too busy having her own issues

But yeah, there's no way that they know how Mutsu is feeling and they don't care at all. We as the audience know how Mutsu is feeling, but to the characters she's probably just the same quiet self as usual.

1. These girls except Sakiko has no hindsight of what actually is happening with Mutsumi. You can't expect someone who has no prior knowledge of one's mental struggles to suddenly do something or care about it. Especially these girls have too much on themselves too. It also does not help as they only see themselves as co-workers.
2. Sakiko herself is too engulfed with her own mental problem to even make proper decisions.
3. And yes, that is how real humans is. It is one self before anyone else.
4. And we are only in the beginning of it. We are only at the start of this whole domino effect so don't expect it to be better. The worst is yet to come.
5. "All people can do is save one self". At some point Mutsumi has to stand for herself. Her current situation was caused in the first place, by her being too selfless. Nobody around her will help her at the moment.
6. You guys should learn how perspectives works on whatever you are watching. Its easier to understand characters motivations that way and I believe the show has done a fine enough job of that.

Given Mutsumi's mental state, and the "help" from outside, it's not surprising that she had a defense mechanism triggered in the form of a second personality.

Too much drama, so much emotional baggage.
Some things are hard to comprehend.
Why does no one try to talk to Mutsumi, check if she is ok and help her to open up?
What does Nyamu gain in the long term from stirring the issues? She is arguably the weakest talent in the band. Why no one calls Nyamu out?
But interested in what the ending means. I don't think she is leaving though I think she would fit into MyGo much better.

Mby i'm wrong, but isn't that DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder)? Like: she has so much on her mind and in order to escape she creates a new personality that is completely dissociated with her main personality. The way the Mortis doll gave her an umbrella may symbolise how she takes on that personality in order to not get hurt anymore.

The people around her has other things to attend to. Sakiko, her closest friend is too broken emotionally: Umiri is only focused on the job at hand which is "managing" the scheduling of this already dysfunctional band; Uika is practically doing double duty with Ave Mujica and sumimi, so not much to expect from her either; and Nyamu has her own agenda to attend to. It come to a point that it now needs a significant outside intervention to snap them out of this conundrum. This is I think the girls of MyGo!!!!! will gonna take the roles of..
And the adults, that should been the ones to do this for Mutsumi (and for others too) are nowhere to be found. They are either indifferent or straight-up trash. This points out to I think the weakest part of the show's plot which is the lack of that adult manager that should have the maturity and experience to deal with these girls.

Myetx said:

Difference in philosophies regarding on how they will advance their careers. Nyamu is more concerned with what the fans would think about them and believes that what the fans want should be top priority while Sakiko is more concerned with the direction of the band itself regardless of what the audience wants. Yes she is the weakest talent in the band but also the one that practice the hardest so in terms of effort, she has the biggest to lose. This is her biggest break and probably the only chance, so its understandable that she will cling to it no matter what.
The argument in the train station is one big calling out to all of the members. The correct question is why she isn't kicked out yet. I think this is more on practicality issues. The music shows are already set and Nyamu seems to be a very good actor herself (because of the fact that she is attending acting school) so it is impractical at this point to remove and replace her. They don't have much time to establish any kind of new chemistry with a new member. I think they can do that instead after these waves of live shows are done but of course it is still up to their management.

Mutsumi's smile is so painful, I can't believe this is a bang dream that should be filled with lots of cute scenes but turned into a physiological horror. I said it last week, it's only a matter of time until this bunch of bitches (except Mutsumi) meet the end of their band. I really hope it ends like that because this band was formed based on professionalism not friendship so it seems like the members are busy with themselves and don't care about each other. For Mutsumi who wants to help Sakiko, it must be an irony because now she is facing her problems alone without anyone realizing what is really happening. and most importantly...

SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE NYAMU SUFFER FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE!!!

If Episode 2 didn't make me feel bad for Mutsumi enough, then this one certainly did. Her story's just so sad and it's made only more tragic by the ending as she accepts Mortis' protection and allows her to take control.

I am not watching other shows this season but the ED sounds so much like a Nier song, I absolutely love it. One of the best EDs this year already.

I'm not really a fan of these past traumas most of these girls have but I had always wanted to know why Saki left Crychic. Now that the truth is out, I must see the fate of this new band until it ends. More Soyo and maybe a bit of Anon is always good in my books.

I really did not understand the whole Mutsumi drama but now that she's been consumed by darkness... time to see if it's going to be good for the band or just for Mutsumi.

@j2h600 I agree with the comment @mietx. There is too much drama and little explanation. For Sakiko, Mujica is the only thing she has left, Mutsumi is in the band for Sakiko, as is Uika, Nyamu alone He wants fame and he joined the band because he is mutsumi and his parents are very famous and about Umiri we know little about his true reasons. We're three episodes in and there's a lot of drama and little music. And if As many people predict in the comments, this is going to get worse (as far as the drama is concerned) and the end may be the dissolution of the band, we'll see how they do it, because that can happen Well done or it could be an anime disaster.

Pt: And one thing that I forgot, about whether the mygo group can be of help or not. Anon and Raana discarded them because they do not have any type of relationship with the members of Ave Mujica. soyo I could help To mutsumi, but let's not forget from the previous season that the bitch soyo rudely accused mutsumi of being the cause of the dissolution of the previous group. Then we have tomori, who knows Sakiko, Mutsumi and Uika, who given her character could help a lot and then we have the drummer (I don't remember her name) who is Umiri's partner, but little else,

Such a great episode! Although it looks dark and chaotic, it's the first time Mutsumi start looking at herself and realising what she wants. Ironically, before this episode she was more like a doll manipulated by people around her, and didn't dare to speak her mind. Although not wearing the mask anymore, Mortis becomes her new mask/persona for her to comfortably hide behind.

Is this going to be an awful future? I don't think so and I'm feeling happy for Mutsumi. In reality everyone develops new characteristics over time, Mutsumi has to change at some point to adapt although not everyone(yeah, I mean Sakiko) is going to like her new persona. It's the pain and struggles when people grow up and not always flowers and sunshine like in other idol animes. Although it looks terrible Mortis took control of her, however Mortis is the part of Mutsumi she never realized before, and it would be great to see them make peace with each other and become one. Like the most recent Nadeko story in the Monogatari series, this is a smart presentation of the growing-up story. But it's going to be a rollercoaster and I can't wait to see what's going to happen.

Oh by the way I had some similar personal experience so now I can say this story is 100% realistic... lol
