Guys the manga sales is over 14 million copies in circulation!!(vol 1~27<ongoing>) It's a good shoujo~
It's one of the most popular shoujo manga! So don't drop this anime it's good! But I don't think 12 episode will show how good it is. Like it deserves more than 12 episodes!

I haven't read the manga but I doubt I'll be dropping it regardless, the first episode was really cute.

Why bring up Oshi no Ko? That's a seinen published series.

@Killjoy_Kora The fact that it is seinen has nothing to do with sales. I mentioned them because they recently revealed the manga's total sales ahead of the release of the final volume.

Honey Lemon Soda is still running but it was over 13 million as of July 2024. Two more volumes have since been published. Oshi no Ko on the other hand only sold around 5 million prior to the anime adaption.

@mahou_tofu Yeah and honey lemon soda has 14 million copies in circulation as of now without ANIME ADAPTATION. After the anime finish airing I'm sure the manga sales will increase even more!

I hope multiples seasons are considered, I think that with already 27 volumes and more to come, we can already have 3 or even 4 seasons of 12 episodes ?

While i have no doubts that this is indeed a very popular manga that sells well ... people need to also distinguish between copies in circulation and actual sales, a one million of those copies could be rotting on shelves or in some storehouse, just an example.

They aren’t too far apart.
A simple Google search gave me this info in 5 seconds.

@Gantz613-EXIT Why should I ask something if I know the sales of both mangas?

I don't think it's so uncommon to watch series based on studios. I usually never miss a release from my favourite ones, while if I had a bad experience in the past I tend to avoid productions from the same team, unless it's something I REALLY want to watch (e.g. adaptation of a manga I'm a fan of).

I don't think they are doing that "good" so far, but I haven't seen anything atrocious either, so I'm giving this one a chance.

@JaysonNnN FR! I can't believe it's only 12 episodes when the manga has 27 volumes! It should've been 24 episodes!

@SimpLife Nah staff is more important. Even Deen, TezukaP have their masterpiece, JC Staff is not even bad like ppl made it out to be

it's not like I'm considering dropping it, but I just don't see it getting better. One of the main issue is how anxious Ishimori is, it's just annoying she can't interact with anyone without being overwhelmed. It would be okay if her backstory warranted her behavior, but it's hard to feel bad for her when her backstory was a few minutes of "oh I got bullied" and that's about it. If they spent the first or second episode focusing only on her backstory and how it affected her it would make sense and her super anxious behavior would make people feel empathy rather than annoyance. And it just uses every boring trope there is, it's just like any other shoujo with no twits so far

That is a good signal. Pople like the stoy and it has almost 30 volumes. The story is similar to other shoujo stories, but meh. I like it because of this.
