I watched this show back when it had just finished airing, I don't remember much from it and I don't even know if it's as good as I remember, but I've been planning to rewatch it for a long time, however, Steins;Gate 0 is a thing.

I don't know how related the two shows are, I'm probably better off watching both, but knowing myself I'll probably finish one of them and then get busy with something else.

So, do you guys recommend I rewatch the original or should I watch 0 instead?

EDIT: I wish there was a like button because you all deserve one, thank you for the advice, I decided to rewatch the original for now.

EDIT 2: Thank you all again, already finished rewatching the original, I didn't know there was a sequel movie so I'm watching that next and I'll probably leave Zero for another time.

if you remember enough about the plot, you can just watch the alternate episode 23 which leads into 0.

if you don't remember much then re-watch

Watch 0 if you remember the plot. Watch this if you don't.

0 is a side entry. It expects you to be familiar with the main series. So if you don't remember, rewatch the original first

this one is better. SG0 took a while to get good and served to further enhance the original SG.

SG grade 10.
SG0 grade 8.

SG0 is very good, but not as good as original.
It tells the story of that Okarun, who send D-Mail to himself telling him to keep trying to save Kurisu in episode 23.
Totally worth a watch. It was still one of the better animes of 2018.

The SG is the original story...SG0 is an alternate universe/ending type thing... they both are visual novel games, so both technically canonical..
I only recently watched SG0 and I'd say it was worth it but not absolutely necessary to watch.
If u rewatch SG and something gets in the way and it takes u a couple of years to watch SG0, that's perfectly fine, just rewatch the last ep of SG before getting into SG0.

People who haven't finished the show may browse the thread. Just in case, use the the spoilers tag.

I feel like I’m the only one who preferred steins gate 0. I mean Steins Gate in general is an absolute masterpiece and for sure in my top 3 anime’s, but it was a pretty slow start until ep 11/12 where things really started to pick up and then it was back to back 10/10 every ep, but because Steins Gate 0 happens after like after ep23 if I’m not mistaken, it was already really developed like the development of Okabe was absolutely insane. I won’t say anything more because of spoilers for others, but Steins Gate 0 is better and I prefer it imo but they are both 10/10.

OP also mentioned that he does not remember much - besides, other people browse threads and spoilers should be spoiler tagged anyways

Need to watch this first then zero. Zero is a prequel to the last episode of the original but best to watch it after finishing the original

Zero is a sequel. If you remember the original enough, you can go to it.

@Bolona07 It is meant to be watched after the original but it's not quite a sequel

Stein;Gate 0 is easily one of the worst "sequels/prequels" I have ever seen in anime, so I'd say stay away from it if you dont want to risk ruining your feelings about Steins;Gate 2011, which was an actually great series.

@SilentBlade01 Jesus fucking Christ, no, avoid this order at all costs, it's dumb and it's not even Chronological.

I wish these noobs in alt accounts stop recommending that shitty order already because most of the noobs around here use alt accounts for some reason when they post that shitty order, it's like you are afraid to post that dumb order in your main account or something.

Stop recommending that shitty order and let other people enjoy Steins;Gate the way it was meant to be watched without those silly ass fan-made orders that another noob created.
