Holy shite, I put it on hold before the current match to let some chapters build up, it felt like it would’ve naturally developed to somewhere around the 1000 mark. I hope it’s not a premature ending. Maybe he will make a sequel manga because aoi is starting his pro career?

I can't quite believe it. Just woke up and I didn't think this would ever happen. Kobayashi dropped it on Christmas too, like it's supposed to be a present or something.

I struggle to see a way that the story gets a good ending after this Barcelona game, because he either takes the route of showing them as grown-ups or he just leaves an open-ending. In that case, the only way to "save" it would be making a sequel Manga. We're missing way too much developement for so many players and for the main character himself.

It's genuinely over.

A sequel would be nice. But at the same time the manga has been on-going weekly for 10 years so I can understand if the mangaka wants to stop, since weekly serializations are brutal. I guess we'll have to wait and see if we get more or if this is gonna be it for Ao Ashi. I'd at least love to get a season 2...

i watched the anime when it was airing but decided to read the manga once it had ended, seems i'll finally (unexpectedly) get to it in 2025.

So is this just gonna end mid tournament then? I know the Barcelona game is the biggest game but it's the first game of a group stage.

I can understand that they might skip the rest of the tournament since it makes sense, Barcelona is by far the strongest. But what about post tournament? For me it doesn't make sense, i just don't want another timeskip ending like Haikyuu.
I hope this comes with a sequel in the future, manga is so good i don't really want it to end like this.
