@TheAceGamer30 og with all those atrocious fillers? In your dream those fillers warrant the score of 7 it's a good thing TYWA is in cours because fillers it's what make a lot of people detest the way Pierrot do stuff and welcomed when the president said that they will embrace seasonal format following KNY success.

Mostly fillers. Nowadays You can easily skip them (and you really should do that) with filler lists but a lot of the ratings are from people that had to watch Bleach weekly back then so their enjoyment was heavily affected by the fillers.

Blame the intrusive fillers, when something interesting and exciting is about to happen...poof...suddenly filler next episode.

I'm a Bleach fangirl but this Bleach anime score is deserved, the fillers were annoying.

Yeah fillers were annoying, i really got confused and skipped them till i saw the proper timeline episode,
Not only bleach Naruto also faced same issues, can u believe naruto mecha eps and water underground land middle of the dessert were useless, and made everyone hate it 😅

WITHOUT the filler bleach still is weak,

it's not on the level of One Piece, Hunter x Hunter and Full Brotuerhood.

it has epic hype moments but it still is boring in the CANON material half the time.

the only top tier arc is soul society.

1) pacing becomes really bad after the soul society arc.
2) apart from Ichigo's fights , all the rest of the fights are poorly and lazily animated. (i know they purposefully kept the budget tight)
3) background art and colors look shit. like , f.e. fake karakura town looks so dull , it drains the battle of any real hype or epicness.
4) Even Kubo agrees that it fails as an accurate adaptation of his manga. Bleach is manga is really poetic, emotional and refined and has a surreal touch to it, which the original anime fails to capture most of the time (not counting the censorship for graphic visuals)

so yeah its a 7/10.

7.9 is pretty good seeing as I think the "canon" story is average storytelling.

the filler can be skipped, it's not that good.

definitely no where near anime like gintama, fullmetal brotherhood etc.

Bleach more deserves a 6 at best ngl. Repetitive storylines, flat characters, and tons of filler can't save a handful of really cool ideas.

I'm of the opinion that Bleach was at it's best when it was Urban Fantasy and Ichigo was a borderline Magical Boy. I really like the Substitute Shinigami and Fullbringer arcs for that reason.

Otherwise we get a lot of vague villains who want to take over the world for no reason and Ichigo's dull "protect my family" personality. It's just not very good.

still was bone average for me personally and gave it a 6.

I feel 7.9 is very generous imo.

I liked bleach, even liked the fillers because it opened the stories a bit more and you saw something new, but honestly basic bleach is just ok. the fights are heavy but most of the time you get only that: fights and it becomes repetitive and boring at some point. character and world building are just side notes, that's what annoyed me the most and I have it an 8/10 even though I liked it. the first memories film is honestly one of my favorite things about it, and that says a lot.

doesn't hold a candle to Gintama to be honest, that one's peak in every department.

I watched all of it including fillers but even without them I think the score should be lower not higher, I have it a 7 so I think it should be around there. 7.95 is so close to an 8 anyway so why is it even a problem.

Genuinely the worst written story I've ever seen animated besides Danganronpa. But everything is bombarded with 10/10 ratings so, if anything, a 7 is way higher than this deserves. However, the fact that literally anything will get pushed to a 9 average and bleach is well beneath that is pretty damning.

Honestly I don’t know how og bleach got past the 7 rating and it baffles me that bleach fans are pushing this anime to be a 9 or 10 show like the story arcs are so repetitive, characters are so flat and has no depth, bad animation and visuals and every fight in this anime is so boring (except the ulquiorra vs ichigo) i get that it has some hype and cool moments but it still is a 6/10 anime at best.

I enjoyed bleach overall and don't got a problem with the pacing , but the show is really really inconsistent. After the Soul Society arc the show really goes down hill, that's where the problem arrives and people mostly complain about filler. I have given Bleach a 6 because of that. (which is a fine rating if you know)

Literally copypasted plot with zero substance. Kubo just introduces 20 new characters and makes them all fight at the exact same time or one after the other then when theyre all done he just does it all over again with another 20 characters who all fight for no reason. it is the most boring and formulaic form that battle shonen has ever taken.

Same too, I gave the show a 6 due to its inconsistency. But the show is really fun and have hype moments no doubt about it.

That's how it goes for most people. That's the reason all Gintama parts are so high. I'm pretty sure Bleach was around 7.7 or 7.8 before TYBW. Now it's 7.95
I'm pretty sure very soon it'll cross 8. Due to TYBW.

Rating is below 8 not only because of awful fillers. But the series as a whole is not that good . The episodes before soul society arc were pretty weak and after it became quite repetitive. The pacing was also very bad. I always thought bleach fight scenes are not that impressive because of their repetitive nature. It actually deserve even lower rating if we compare it to any other action shounen. I know TYBW is getting high rating because of bright colours and good animation but sadly in the OG series they were not there to save the series.

My doctor has always told me to smoke. He even explains himself: “Smoke, my friend. Otherwise someone else will smoke in your place.”

episode 16-64 were HYPE AS FUCK THOSE aha.

yeah your comment is spot on, felt like half of the canon material was repetitive and basically it was just fight after fight without any decent ideas.

don't get me wrong I'm not shitting on bleach man, I'm only trying to counter arguy the OP opinion about 8 rating not being good enough.

dragonball my fav show always has been, those I wouldnt ask why it's not got a higher rating, I feel it proberly rated too high.
