This anime is completely different from what we all thought it would be. It's heavily slice-of-life-oriented(ignore the supernaturalism) emotional anime that teaches us vital lessons. Tell me what you have learnt from this anime.

I learned that if I get hit by a car and don’t isekai in a fantasy world, I can hang around a while and possess the body of a small child. Sounds fun!

Sorry for being a dick, but I’m at an age where I’ve lived through most of the things in this show so I don’t think it taught me anything. Just reminded me how mean life can be.
But so far I haven’t witnessed reincarnation or possession, even though they were the factors driving the development in the story.

I see. I meant we should realize that we must be prepared to lose someone if we love someone. it's inevitable. no one will be alive forever on this earth. one day we all have to say goodbye so cherish the time we have left. Don't be sad because it's over, be happy because it happened. That's all.

It is exactly like I thought it would be.

Sadly, it made the daughter too selfish in this last episode.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

I learned it's ok to invite elementary school girls into my house if they claim to be my waifus.

Yes of course I’m watching that, one of the best shows this season. I watch about 40 anime every season, so I would never miss My Dress Up Darling with extra girls and extra depth of backstory. But I can only wish to be as supportive and caring as it’s MC.

It’s easy. Get old. Retirement is handy if you like the otaku life. I also worked night shifts before that, so I still live semi-nocturnal meaning I can watch 5-6 hours after my wife goes to bed. Perfect.

@FutoiOtaku but you know there's a thing like you mentioned in your above replies that you didn't learn anything from this and i doubt you will learn major things from anime because of your age and experience.

Anime can be fully enjoyed in teenage and even in your 30's but after that it will not be as enjoyable as it was for you in your teenage. I think teenage is the best time to start anime and then find time for it in thier busy life. It teaches a lot about life.

Indirectly, that means you can't enjoy emotional animes and animes meant for a life lesson anymore due to your age and you are missing a major part of anime, but you can still enjoy romance and action. You missed the rare feeling of shedding tears for a fictional character.

Anime can be fully enjoyed in teenage and even in your 30's but after that it will not be as enjoyable as it is for other people. So I don't consider your situation a advantage. Everyone should start watching anime in their teenage to learn from it and then find time for it in thier busy life. It teaches a lot about life.

Don’t you know anything about ageing? Even cartoons like the Simpsons joke about how much more emotional you get in old age. I was a hard little bugger in my youth and seldom got upset, but now it takes me months to get over losing a cat or close relative. Every anime has me choking back tears, it’s embarrassing! Just wait, it comes to us all. I needed tissues at the end of 2.5D Ririsa, and not for the things you youngsters need them for 😂

Sorry for adding that getting emotional over anime part. I was reading a similar thead created by the same person who created this thread and there was one person who said that he didn't get emotional by any anime like your lie in April, I want to eat your pancreas etc. After reading that I came to this thread and read your comments and mixed them up with previous thread, hence that reply.

And I didn't meant to critize or joke about your age. I just wanted to say that now you wouldn't feel the same way a youngster would feel after watching these kind of anime.

And about the tissue thing, sorry to say but i don't use tissue for that 😂.

@Otaku_guru no offense taken, I have a sense of humour and face reality with a smile most days. I joke with my parents, both 80+, about being old farts, it’s hard to be respectful all the time! But apart from my life experiences I’m no different from you. I’m still 18 on the inside. Old women don’t get attractive when you age, they’re always wrinkly and saggy even when the guy in the mirror is too. I still prefer to look at a 20-30 year old. Just don’t think I could survive a night with one…
Hence anime girls are better than reality and I empathise more with them than most real women, causing the sad and emotional scenes to be more impactful than you’d think.

@Otaku_guru completely disagree first it's completely discriminatory against older people who have that hobby. A hobby don't have a age limitation to be enjoyed as long the person who do it enjoyed it don't need more. I started watching anime at 24 I am 34 now been working night shift all my life going by your comment my life is a mistake? Let me tell you no I live a fulfilling life and I don't let my preconceived notions cloud me like you I live and let live and you should do the same.

woh woh. Calm down bro. Firstly the person to whom I was talking doesn't have any issue then why are you getting at me. Secondly, As i said i didn't mean any criticism about his or any older people's age who are watching anime. You should read my both comments calmly. I didn't say anywhere your life is a mistake or you are not living fulfilling life. I just said that the best time to start anime is your teenage and then till your death because a teenage can experience anime more because he's getting started at life.

It's a huge misunderstanding you are having. Maybe I should have focused on my wordings but that man got the point and you took it wrong way.

“Damn, this thread went a different direction than I thought—just like the show!😯 No, but for real, this show was a lot better than I anticipated. I lost my mother two years ago; it was heartbreaking for the whole family. Maybe I just resonated with the show’s premise through similar experiences, but I thought it was very sweet. What I’d give to get the closure that I’m sure my family would have wanted too. 10/10—really, don’t judge a book by its cover.”
