It´s really sad not only for the fallen warriors but for kafka, not only is he rejecting his only chance to go back to normal but knows that if he fails the japan and the rest of the world will be in serious trouble.
I hope there might be a way for him to go back to normal but as things stand I see only two possible endings:

- Kafka defeats N9, can never return to his human form, which by public opinion what happened with N9 knows he needs to leave the JAKDF for Mina and everyelse´s sake and becomes vigilant in the shadows to fight the kaijus.

- Kafka defeats N9 and is able to become human again and will no longer be able to use his Kaiju powers ever again and can remain in JAKDF, him and Mina accomplish both their dreams and become a couple.

Either way I think Mina and friends will help Kafka in either possible ending.

I have mixed feelings about this chapter. On one hand, I really appreciated the emotional depth we got from Kafka and the people who died, especially as they shared their regrets. It added a layer of humanity to the story that felt impactful. The dialogue was definitely a highlight—emotional, raw, and engaging.

But then there’s the whole samurai-turning-his-heart-into-a-core thing. I’m sorry, but it’s just weak. There’s no precedent for this in the story, and it feels like the author just pulled it out of nowhere to move the plot forward. It’s a straight-up ass pull. It makes the execution of an otherwise promising moment fall flat.

How do you guys feel about this? Did the "heart-core" thing work for you, or do you think it undermined the chapter?

@logic340 there's truth to your words, up until now there was never even a mention of that happening. Unless that was never witnessed and recorded for the Japanese Defense Force to use.

@Mezzy93 You’re absolutely right—it’s not just about what the Japanese Defense Force does or doesn’t know. The bigger issue is how the samurai even had the knowledge or ability to pull this off. Like, where did this come from? We barely understand the kaiju’s origins or mechanics as readers, so this sudden ability to turn a heart into a core and harness the emotions of other dead samurai feels completely out of left field. It’s such a massive leap in logic without any prior setup.

I did like how the chapter tied Kafka’s existence to their shared regret and inability during that critical moment. It added depth to his struggle and made the dialogue stand out. But the execution of this whole "heart-core" concept really undercut the impact for me. It’s frustrating because the potential was there—it just needed better groundwork. How are you feeling about where the story might go from here?

@logic340 I have no idea honestly. I just know that this arc has gone on for too long and it should end soon, especially considering that Naoya puts out a chapter biweekly. Hopefully he'll explain the whole "core-to-heart" thing cause that literally came out of nowhere.

... and then he rematched all over him?

So negative emotions formes the insect kaiju and ghost samurai turned kafkas heart into a new core.
Yeah just let this end already, I dont want to drop it so close to the end

The mistakes made by this author feels similar to what happened in KNY. Even if u ignore characters, plot etc how do you FUMBLE THE FIGHTING🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Go watch Pacific rim rather than his bs. The author is trash bc there's no takeaway for this series. Characters? Generic, bland and the antagonists barely talk (the audience can't be attached to the ONLY source of conflict). Plot? subpar (bc there aren't anysubplots/twists/ the author isn't tryna do anything special). The fights imo where doomed from the start bc they aren't complex. The mc is the biggest piece of trash I've seen in a while and most of the cast is alr seasoned ppl so it's not like we get invested in them bc we hafta wait for the author to flesh em out.

The pacing is genuinely actually the most surprising thing cuz when u read up to chapter 100 you realize the author hasn't really been doing much. This buellsh1t would've never landed pre-covid. Yall gotta stop hyping up these trash series with so many blatant flaws
