I was watching the show when I suddenly made the mistake of wanting to know what other people thought about the episode. I opened the comments and was bombarded by at least 3 different huge spoilers, and now I don't even know if I want to continue

Edit: I'm watching the show. Stop replying :)

Yes, you must watch all of it even if you know what’s going to happen kinda. This anime is genuinely unique in every aspect and worth watching.

Yeah, you should totally keep going. In my opinion, this is one of the best animes of all time. I think it'd be a shame to miss out on it just because of a few spoilers.

Yes you should still watch it, to be honest, I kinda got spoiled myself before starting this anime, I came across a Nintendo Mario 1 hack that is based on Steins;Gate in 2016 called "Rohrleitung Gate" (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3073/), it's a pretty cool hack and it's difficult too, I couldn't beat it because I don't have the skills so I watched a TAS in Youtube of people beating it and by the end of it, I got the gist of what the anime was all about, in fact, that hack is the reason I started watching Steins;Gate in the first place.

The ending of that hack will spoil you of what Steins;Gate will be about and since I loved the ending of that hack I started watching the anime, and to my surprise, it became the best anime I've watched.

So yeah, even if you got spoiled, I still recommend this anime.

It has much more to offer than just a few plot twists.

Ye it is.

The twists are kinda important, but I think the overall experience is good enough to watch it anyways.

I’d say so. I think it is still a great anime worth watching even if the first half is a slow burn.

even if you know its certainly worth the watch. honestly maybe even more so. granted after things came together i loved watching it initially when everything was fresh and new but my 2nd watch brought so much more insight and clarity. plus watching it unfold is a lot more impact full emotionally than just reading what happens

I really hate those people who provide spoilers without warning. I was listening to Blue Lock S2 op in YouTube a few days ago and now I know the result of the U-20 match thanks to the thumbnail of a suggested video.

Well I once reduce S;G by 1 score, because I was spoiled about a small event in the show. Not as serious spoiler as yours, but it truly affect my watching experience.
However, it's still worth watching the rest imo.

depends on how much was spoiled. I think you can still enjoy a story if you already know the twist going in, because that way you can sorta watch it through a different lense. Like, you know something is gonna happen, so now you are gonna look out for clues THAT it is gonna happen. If that is the case, I think you can still watch Stein's Gate

If the amount of spoilers you have received are enough to essentially have a full plot synopsis.... I think it is still worth watching, just because reading summaries and hearing hear-say is still very different from viewing the show and seeing how it executes it's plot

Steins;Gate followed by Steins;Gate 0 makes for a way better ride than just the initial series.

It is a really thorough and nuanced story that goes forward, back, and back, and back, and forward.... and so on.

For me this has been one of the few animes that I have watched more than once and it's always worth it. I'm jealous of you that will get to still watch and enjoy it for the 1st time(even though you might know how things turn up).

I kinda feel you, cuz I knew what is going to happen in death note before watching it cuz lol it's so popular, but despite that I enjoyed it a lot, great writing doesn't get ruined by spoiling.

honestly, I rewatched it again recently with my fiance and, despite knowing what would happen, it was still amazing. knowing the twists actually helps appreciate the moments before they happen, if that makes sense. like being clued in to something the characters don't know. it gives a different perspective and lets you really think it through as events unfold. luckily steins;gate isn't just about twists, it's about the outcome of the twists and how it affects the characters and overall story. it'll still be enjoyable.

Definitely. I’ve watched this 3 times and it’s still confusing. Being spoiled doesn’t change much. Also, I love steins gate more and more on every rewatch.

@avdolsfather How on earth is Steins;Gate still confusing to you after watching it 3 times? this anime is as straightforward as they come.

I understand being confused by other time-traveling shows like Dark because that one is sure as hell confusing, but Steins;Gate is pretty darn easy compared to that one.

@xZabuzax There are a few plot holes. Like okabe’s reading steiner is never explained. At first I thought he was a gigalomaniac, but zero disproved this. Also, why does CERN want the IBN 5100 so badly? Okabe needs it to decode their proprietary database. However, you would think that if CERN cared about security so much, that they would just, I don’t know, change their proprietary code? Or maybe just not depend on security through obscurity? This is supposed to be an orgnaization that is vying for world domination here. You would think they would have better OpSec. It doesn’t ruin steins;gate for me but you can’t argue that it isn’t confusing.
