After taking the time to catch up on Dandadan and viewing the latest episode, I find myself somewhat perplexed by its high ratings and widespread acclaim. I am struggling to understand what distinguishes this series from others in a similar genre. Specifically, I find the protagonist to be relatively unremarkable, the animation to be of average quality, and the soundtrack to be somewhat underwhelming. Additionally, the series seems to lack significant emotional depth, which has made it difficult for me to form any strong connection with the story or characters. With that said, I wonder if the enthusiastic reception might be part of a broader cultural or community-driven phenomenon, perhaps akin to the situation with Kagurabachi.

lmao. Average animation and lack of emotional depth? This one clearly a rage bait. what a goofball

“The animation to be one of average quality.”

Are we watching the same show?

i completely get where you’re coming from. after catching up on dandadan and watching the latest episode, i can’t help but feel a little baffled by the overwhelming praise it’s received. sure, it’s entertaining, but i struggle to see what sets it apart from other series in its genre. the protagonist doesn’t stand out much to me—they’re serviceable, but nothing groundbreaking. the animation is fine, but not exceptional, and the soundtrack feels like it’s just… there. none of it really grabs me in a way that feels memorable.

what really gets me, though, is the lack of emotional depth. it’s hard to connect with the characters or the story when it doesn’t feel like it’s saying anything deeper or hitting any emotional highs. i keep wondering if i’m missing something, or if maybe the hype is less about the series itself and more about the broader community embracing it. it feels almost like the kagurabachi situation, where the excitement might be more of a cultural moment than a true reflection of the series’ quality.

maybe people are drawn to its quirkiness or its energy, but for me, it doesn’t quite hit the mark. i want to appreciate it more, but so far, it feels like a series that’s more popular because of the zeitgeist than its actual substance.
@kusanagi_ZFG It really do be like that.
