THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Wizer shows up and ends up chained to Lina for most of the episode, eventually fighting assorted monsters and a mad chimera creator on a mysterious island after Gourry is tragically lost to a giant jellyfish monster. Don't know how this relates to the main plot, but it was fun.

I've dropped all pretense of being objective with this show. This is so 90s it's amazing -- from BGM (e.g., when they're going door-to-door) to the physical humor (Lina accidentally launches herself twice) to the rather interesting deus ex mechina at the end reminisicent of Yukon Cornelius taming the Bumble. I'm loving every minute of this.

But they need to drop annoying Wizer and get Xellos in ASAP.

Poor Sebastian.

Wow, even after watching it only in raws I can say that this is definitely my most favourite episode in the new series so far. I love the Slayers first of all for its comedy aspect and this ep is just filled with stuff which I love so much: Lina demonstrates her healthy appetite, common townsfolk tremble and flee at mere mention of her name, Lina mercilessly using her companions as cannon fodder and ridiculous villain is being easily defeated in ridiculous way. The only thing which I'd love to see more is Naga and her insane laughter but even if she won't show up (which seems very likely) in the series at all I can't really complain with the return of so many Slayers goodness, besides "John" with his thickheadedness and absolute selfconfidence doesn't looks like a very bad fill-in for her.

I'm having a hard time judging this show, mostly because I'm such a freaking fanboy. I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the nostalgia and slayers goodness to its full extent. Can't wait till next week :D

Perfect.

Okay, the first episode was "meh" for me. The second episode was "zomg" and this one was kind of "ugh." Aside from sounding like a cave person, I just wasn't too pleased with this episode. Ill still be looking forward to next week, but I'm a little disappointed with the progress of the show.

I just have this feeling that the show is trying too hard and thus is bringing down the quality of the show.

Wiser's really starting to get on my nerves, but besides that, Slayers has and always will be a 10 in my book. It's a LITTLE comforting to know, as we find out at the end of the episode, that Wiser's not as stupid as I had initially thought, at the very least.

It reminded me of case from the frist season of someone trying to breed the prefect chimera. I also noticed a foreshadowing if you guys know the term. To put it simply: someone might be trying to breed another dark lord. Maybe it might be one of the ones not yet defeated but needing someone to give them a body to possess like Rezo the red priest from season 1?At least I hope that stupid detective is gone.
Oops! I appear to be incapable of following Rules 16 and 17, so I had to have a mod change my sig for me.

Same here. I saw a couple of episodes of the original series in the past but never really kept up with it, but so far these three episodes are meh.

He's getting on my nerves as well, and if he keeps doing the whole "My perfect gut instinct says that Lina Inverse is the criminal yet again", I'm going to launch my own Dragon Slave. -_- The nostalgia of the series is nice, but it doesn't save this series for me. Hopefully it will get better along the way. I'm still waiting for Xellos to make an appearance as he always made the series good.

Definitely agree, Wiser needs to stfu. and Xellos is my fav character so i'll be super excited once he makes his appearance.

He can't come fast enough for me. The quirks that he and Lina share are priceless.

Lina launching herself into the air was hilarious XDD

I agree with everyone else about Wiser, but he redeemed himself a little in that he actually knew that Lina wasn't the one responsible for all of the incidents. It shows that there's at least a little more to him.

I've had enough of Wiser, too -- I'm hoping that this is the conclusion of his little plot (or if he must stay, he'll be on the sidelines instead of everywhere).

Other than that though, even as I feel Revolution may not be as awesome as the previous seasons (yet!), it's still a lot of fun and brings me back to my ... er, early teenagehood, I guess XD I have to wonder if there are many people watching this who haven't watched the first 3 seasons. It certainly helps my enjoyment of the show <3

Agreed. If he was just literally a one gag character who followed Lina around for no apparent reason, my patience would run thin rather rapidly.

Had the same thoughts about the episode as everyone else. Wizer is really getting annoying, but the humour was pretty good. Especially the jellyfish-scene's.

heh it just hit me that the English version is the same guy who voiced Megatron in Transformers Armada. LOL

That was hilarious :D

It seems that Wizer is not so stupid after all. He was able to trick Lina into doing his job :D

I like Wizer but I do feel like his gimmick is getting a bit stale, maybe he should leave for a bit before he overstays his welcome.

Repeating the gag with Wizer annoyed me a little at first, but I’m satisfied with it since it turned out that he wasn’t just acting like an idiot again. I don’t mind him using Lina’s gang like that.

I’m also okay with the relaxed pace. It’s not like we’re taking a detour in the thick of the plot, after all.

So Wizer is a troll just like Xellos? That's kind of boring imo.

I'm not 100% convinced Wizer is a troll like Xellos but his dumbass act would be getting pretty thin by now if that's all there is to it.
