Is this worth watching?

I’m planning to watch Shaman King but I don’t know which version is better, the old version or this remake version. This version got poorer ratings but I haven’t seen the series at all so what’s your take, is this adaptation worth watching or should I just watch the old adaptation. Thanks.

The first part is rushed or fast paced because they adapted the same content as the old one, I believe, up to ep14 or so. The middle part was good, but the last part became boring.
This is the canon one, so if you are interested in the actual story, then you should watch the new one.

OG Shaman King is so much better than this remake. The only good thing the remake has is that it's loyal to manga I guess.

Ahhh I see so it’s like a Fullmetal Alchemist situation. I think I start with the old one and then maybe out of curiosity I’ll start this one.

So it’s one of those situations. It definitely seems like I’ll watch both adaptations just to see how they differ, I’ll start with the old one.

I like it very much. remember seeing the previous version on my TV in the Portuguese channel and when I heard there was a remake I dashed to see it and I enjoyed it a bunch. Asakura Yoh and his bunch of shaman friends have a wonderful journey that is worth investing your time for sure.

To be sincere, no, it is fast paced with the most shonen generic formula at all. If you just want to see fights, new powers, a tournament, yeah watch it, but if you want to watch something deep, go for something else

Only watch the OG, everything in it is much better, even the anime original ending.

I love Shaman King but I have to be honest, this adaptation was pretty mediocre.

Besides the beginning having such awful pacing that any important scene lacks impact, I’ve watched all 52 episodes and haven’t see an tiny ounce of sakuga, maybe in the final fight but that’s it… even the soundtrack despite being composed by Yuki Hayashi is super generic compared to his other OSTs done for My Hero Academia or Haikyuu.
I don’t know, when this reboot was announced me (and many fans) were expecting Brotherhood treatment but it’s not like that at all, it feels like this anime lacks heart, it’s a “lifeless” adaptation.

The best experience for Shaman King is still reading the whole manga, if you really want to watch it I would go as far as recommend watching the first 25 episodes of the old anime before going into the reboot since the reboot is so fast-paced in the first couple of episodes.

just watch when feel like watching lol, who cares worth or not ..
that said, I did enjoy both the new and the old one .. except , felt kinda rushed here and there
