I was going to wait until season 2 comes out to watch stampede because I’m not a huge fan of watching unfinished shows but honestly I’m impatient and just want to start it now lol I’m just wondering if this season ends off on a huge cliffhanger or if it’s satisfying enough that waiting for season 2 won’t be horrible?

Have you seen the original Trigun? If not, watch that first. It's a classic from the Cowboy Bebop era of anime and you'll appreciate Stampede a lot more if you understand its roots. I mean, imagine how it would feel to grow up with a character and then almost 30 years later they come back modernized.

go watch it. yes there's a huge cliffhanger in the end but the end of the season is really satisfying because it properly concluded the season one's Arc.

Yes, you can watch Stampede as a standalone and you would probably enjoy it... but to me that's like saying "You can just eat the pizza toppings, you don't need to eat the pizza itself. They'll have some cheese and sauce on them, so really you wouldn't be missing anything."

stampede is a complete story in and of itself so that analogy doesnt really make sense to me.
i understand that you have a lot of nostalgia towards the original, but op doesnt.
youre making it sound like they have to watch the original first which is not the case

No, they do not have to watch the original to get a complete story *arc*. I enjoyed Stampede and I thought they did a great job of it.

However, within the parameters of this request it absolutely makes sense for the OP to watch original Trigun. They want a whole story without having to wait for another season to be made to continue the narrative.

To me I feel like you're arguing you shouldn't want to read Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew" if you've watched the movie "10 Things I Hate About You". It's a complete story, so why bother with the original?

It's not a season. It's a re-imagining of the original.

And no. It's got a proper ending.

well, this is a stampede thread after all. and op asked about that show specifically. he can watch the original after watching stampede if he finds the setting and characters that interesting

It doesn't have a cliffhanger but sets up the sequel.
Btw neither Stampede nor the first anime adapt the manga faithfully, so if you want to know the original story I really recommend reading the manga. Both anime are great too tho

If they want the whole story you should be recommending the manga, not the incomplete anime with original ending

as long as you don't watch the post credit scene in the last episode, you'll be fine. it's a complete story. don't listen to the people saying you need to watch the old anime or read the manga, you really don't.
