I often get distracted when the character and camera movements are smooth while the objects and faces are on different/lower frame rate...

I feel it adds to the disorientation your supposed to feel when you watch something from junji

To be fair, Junji Ito's work in general are supposed to feel creepy and disorienting. I still wish the characters didn't move so wierd, but at least the animation works when they turn into creepy monsters.

Reminds me of Aku no Hana (same director!), which was a million times worse. The animation is way more stylized here.

Oddly kinda adds to the horror aspect because I'm so memersized by the overly smooth animation lol.

Also listen to both EDs of Aku no Hana and Uzumaki, that was my first clue in realizing that these two anime had a connection. Somewhat similar vibes, minimal music, no visuals other than rolling credits.
