Why is the number of episodes still not listed?

This season/cour was confirmed to have 14 episodes over a week ago and it still hasn't been updated. And what about the TV broadcast? That begins tomorrow, will it still be considered an ONA?

Why do you think MAL SHOULD change it instantly?
If you have the info, then good for you. I don't think anyone expects MAL to update info instantly.
At most they follow biggest anime announcements and weite articles and add the entry for new seasons but that's it. Everything else takes time

It's ONA because it was not initially broadcast on TV going by what you said so that shouldn't change. And not sure about 14 eps since before it started people kept saying between off and monster it would be 3-ish cours long.

At most they follow biggest anime announcements and weite articles and add the entry for new seasons but that's it. Everything else takes time

@WestOnAndrewAve just not sure how they'd normally classify that, are there other examples of ONAs that were later broadcast on TV?

Also, 14 episodes is confirmed here: https://www.monogatari-series.com/oms/bddvd/

It's almost certain that there will be another 2 cours or so later, but not until next year at the earliest, and they'll most likely be branded as separate parts like Owari

Not a mod so I can only assume they consider the main broadcast the TV versions and the streaming an "early" release in these types of situations like some say in their descriptions. They have the same issue with anime previewed at some event and then they say it started during that season even though it did not. When the "main" broadcast starts it's updated.

I think it has to do with how the original run was distributed. JJBA Stone Ocean aired on Japanese television (allegedly) but because its original distribution was via Netflix it’s listed as an ONA. Monogatari will probably do the same
