Was it sad enough to make you cry? Even a drop of tear counts.

As if lol the characters were too broken for me to care about if they live or die.At one point I wanted both of them to just die.I can see though why someone would cry reading this

Towards the end is a scene that I would say provides a lot of shock if you didn't see it coming. I started crying when I reached this point because I didn't expect it and the sheer shock made my body respond with tears. It was a strange experience I must say.

A couple of times. Towards the end it got pretty rough for me. Punpun went through a lot and you get a fly-on-the-wall view of all of the really traumatic bits. Masterpiece story but a fucked one at that.

It emotionally scarred me, but I didn’t cry. Just punched the air wishing for the author to give poor punpun a better life.

try reading Chi no Wadachi then. It's the only manga that has ever made me cry.

No single event has ever made me cry more than reading oyasumi punpun (and I never cry at anything irl). While reading it I listened a lot to the song ”Last surprise” (you know the incredibly groovy one no one could ever cry to?), and punpun was so sad that I accidentally pavlov’d myself into getting teary-eyed whenever I hear the beginning to the song (I might be crazy, or punpun just might be the saddest thing ever)

No. With each chapter it started to feel like an endurance test in misery and I was a little angry by the end. I felt bad for certain characters (Punpun (sorta) and Aiko) but I never cried. I finished Blood on the Tracks earlier this year which was definitely a more emotional expierience.

I remember I cried so much that I had to stop reading for a few days to pick it up again, I was too young in my opinion and I felt similarly to the characters in my own life so it was a bit too much for me, I still loved the manga but its a bit embarrassing I cried even in school when I was thinking about it, I should have read it later in life. I want to reread it soon tho

yeah, this manga scarred me for life. like, after I finished it, I was so emotionally wrecked that I couldn't read any manga for months, it really left a mark on me.

I am quite good at getting invested in the things I read or watch to the point where I'm not even slightly thinking about what might happen. Just solely focused on what's in front of me. I had the same thing with Fight Club where I didn't figure it out until it was pretty much stated.

Not actually, it did get me stressed at times tho.

No, I’m just not a fan of how Asano writes his characters. So a lot of the emotional parts end up falling flat for me

Maybe I did shed a tear out of pity for a character but I don't remember where or for whom exactly it was, I also don't particularly remember how I felt when I read Punpun even though I read it almost half an year ago

No, I hardly ever cry, maybe once in 10 years (ok that's a bit of an exaggeration lol). Punpun is very deep, but I didn't really find it sad, Punpun rather made me think about life and shit.

A girl on the shore touched me a bit more emotionally, even though it was much shorter, Imo the MC's had a closer relationship than Punpun and Aiko. But I didn't cry here either.

I'm somewhat like you. The only manga that ever made me cry is Chi no Wadachi. Give it a read :)

@BipulGamer07 yes, it's another manga by the same mangaka. I've been planning to read Chi no Wadachi for a while now, maybe I'll do it soon.

I was emotional, in the fact that I was laughing at dark moments due to how messed up it was (that's just how I am tbh) and I enjoyed my time with it because of that. great story, but severely messed up

@BipulGamer07 sooo honestly, if I were to read it now that I'm older, and let's be honest, care much less about people and everything in general, it would probably barely affect me.
