Most people know that cheating is very common around the world and it usually doesn't end well, cheaters often don't apologize honestly for their misdeed and cucks mostly don't forgive them.
That's what I loved most about the last episode of this season: the involved characters did almost the exact opposite of what usually happens in real life and showed us a genuine alternative how to act in such a situation. Now let me ask:
  1. Do you know any cheater who apologized more honestly than Rudeus?
  2. Do you know any thief who behaved more honestly than Roxy?
  3. Do you know any cuck who forgave them more kindheartedly than Sylphy?
Feel free to add anything else on that topic, but please avoid to discuss the polygamy aspect, let's focus on the cheating here.

I think that only PewDiePie apologizing for Bridge Incident felt more genuine and remorseful.

Rudeus should have never done that, but I can't really blame rudeus Roxy took advantage when he was down but still he should have remembered the promise he made with Sylphie , it kinda made me angry on rudeus don't get me wrong rudeus is a great mc but he does too much.

No and honestly there's mad people criticizing and mad but personally I'm happy that all the love interest win cause every anime is the same and this is different. Also its not like its earth if it was i feel he mentally wouldn't be able to do it and would've stayed with only sylphie

It’s a difficult situation that arose through nobody’s fault despite the people trying to blame Roxy. The choices, which landed on Rudy, were hurt Roxy badly and make her take the whole loss on herself or share the burden making Roxy and himself feel guilty as well as Sylphie being hurt by no longer having the trust she thought was a given in their marriage.
I think the outcome was the right one in the world of the story.

The only comparison that comes up for me is between Sylphiette and Mai in the Seishun Buta Yarou series, given that Mai tolerates or even helps Sakuta in his endeavours to help a string of attractive young girls. He is even allowed to fake date Koga to help her deal with her problem. Mai is a total saint and thus best waifu ever, even tho written by a man therefore written to be perfect in the eyes of other men. Women probably think she’s a pushover!

Eh, apologizing doesn't justify cheating, but at least he had the balls to own up.

I do. The one that blames herself for everything: Roxy. Roxy is the one that got cucked first (and two times at that, by Eris and then Sylphy)

yeah its pretty common. cheaters always most of the time apologize and try to get them to forgive them, only to then cheat more/again

Probably true in most cases, but if that's their intent from the start, then it's a dishonest apology. That said, I wonder if Rudeus will cheat again with Eris.

To be frank, I don’t think he handled it well. He had this discussion in the family room with is younger siblings there, and Roxy too, … and led it off by saying he would like to marry Roxy without any time to process. Didn’t even lead into it by apologizing and put both girls on the spot in an embarrassing situation.

That wouldn't have been smart, if he first told them about the cheating and afterwards asked to make her his 2nd wife, then there would have been the fight with Norn in between and she would have freaked out 2 times in a row, so first asking to make her his 2nd wife and right afterwards admitting the cheating almost without interruption was a more promising way of handling the conversation.

I know of someone who apologized for cheating more honestly than Rudy did. Unfortunately for him though, the person he cheated on didn't forgive him and broke it off, and I think that was fair of her. The person who he cheated with didn't really care one way or another. It was a 1 night stand type of thing

@Zarutaku

i think thats most likelly where its going, do you honestly think he is not going to add the red haired one to his harem?
that aside he was apoligizing for fucking an wanting to marry Roxy, he kept doing that anyway, thats not an honest apology

@silversaint Eris sure will join the harem, but it isn't certain if Rudeus will cheat again. Besides, Rudeus didn't apologize for asking to marry Roxy, he apologized for being unfaithful and according to his inner monologue it was honest.

I guess maybe if you wanted to force the outcome you wanted

every cheater should rot in hell. If you cheat, you don't respect your partner. End. no apology can erase what you did

Right, but can a traumatizing mental crisis justify cheating?
And doesn't a honest apology indicate that, despite the cheating, Rudeus still has high respect for Sylphy, probably even more than before?

Honestly in my eyes nothing justifies cheating. And Rudeus apologizes a LOT for many terrible shit he does. It's like an high school teen apologizing to their teacher constantly after every little mistake. At some point it becomes meaningless.

If this was the real world, and I was in Sylphy's shoes I'd have just dumped him, but I guess the times and circumstances are different from our world.

That seems exaggerated and not really fair given all the good things Rudeus has done, but if you see it that way then so be it.

But you know how much Sylphy loves Rudeus and leaving him would probably hurt herself much more than forgiving the cheating after his apology. Would you really just dump someone you love that much?

A person who cheats once will do it again. And Rudeus, does indeed, do it again.

I've never been cheated on, but I treat these scenarios as if I've experienced them myself in order to see what my own reaction and emotions would be. And I simply just can't justify cheating no matter what in my mind. It seems like unnecessary torture. Honestly sometimes it's better to let go of the people you love so you don't hurt yourself for longer. I do know people who have experienced this, and the only way they could finally accept reality was by cutting off all ties with their ex.

That may apply to most but not all, Rudeus might cheat again with Eris (assuming that Sylphy and Roxy actually demand him to stay faithful, which I'm not certain of) but it isn't certain if he will, because they might adapt it differently from the novel like they already did last season.
