I love how they keep announcing new animation projects with specific release dates ('*Wind Breaker' Season 2 was the most recent) and they have said nothing the season 2 of this anime which is currently their most anticipated project(and I am obviously not only talking about mal). The management of this studio is embarrassing and out of touch about what people really want from them . And of course they have already more than enough content from the source material. |

True. Honestly, all we can do is but to wait more at this point. |

Sounding a tad too overdramatic there. This is an example of "suffering from sucess" more than anything else. Also, most of the core staff that made MDUP is on Elusive Samurai instead. |

probably because these other projects were already on schedule. Remember that they work with years ahead of planing. At the time of release of anime, if I am correct, they didn't have enough manga content for season 2, they just announced because of the success.(correct me if am I wrong) |

It's advertisement. they want to have more than enough source material so that when they do finish season 2, there is a good bit of catching up to do in Manga. makes those fans (like the one who made this thread) that want more have a bunch of material they can throw their money at to get their fix. the industry gets their money this way. That's why, for a lot of animes that did well, you will never get that second season because they want you to pay for the Manga instead. |

At the time of release of anime, if I am correct, they didn't have enough manga content for season 2, I think this is where the main problem is located . Every studio plans things before release .... that's nothing new . Announcing it (in this case this anime's season 2) way too early makes even the most patient fans (like me) frustrated and they knew that they didn't have (problably) enough manga volumes to make a 12 episode season when they made the announcement so why did they do it? . Reminds me of what game companies do |

@charlie_sv I f I wanted them to rush , I would have started whining 4 months after the official announcement of the project in September 2022 but now we are almost 2 years after the announcement and not even a PV and as I previously said the have more than enough content to animate. Also you forget the fact that this is not the new season of Frieren but a simple rom com sol anime which means that they are are using the majority of assets for the new projects which makes things faster . |

@Koyorides_ Nope , they have specified that it will be a TV anime season on their X account . Specifically they said this : TVアニメ 「その着せ替え人形は恋をする」 続編制作決定 (translation) TV Animation The dress-up doll will fall in love Sequel production decided. So I don't think this will be a movie . |

If I was the ''pointlessly angry'' person as you say I wouldn't have created this thread almost 2 years after the announcement and this is actually the first time I create this type of thread/discussion. And one more thing , I am asking for info from their official X account and I simply created this thread as someone who bought both the blu ray and the manga aka as a costumer( so I think I have the right to ask for info) to see how other people like me feel about this . Oongbuh said: Anime production doesn't work the way you think it does. Never claimed I was knowledgeable about how Japanese animation studios operate and neither do you it seems from the random things you are typing , your point? One thing I know for sure is that announcing season 2 so early in production was a mistake. Nothing stopped them from announcing the new season 2 ,six months - 1 year before the air date. And as @lucknoskillz said , Square Enix probably ''pressured'' the studio to announce the new season so early was to boost the manga sales without giving a damn about how long their costumers have to wait for the new season. |

I'm on their side. the most I can tell you is follow the author's, publisher's, and studios' socials and look for an announcement when it's made. I'm hoping for a season 2 as well so looking forward to the release date announcement. |

That was indeed the way things were handled back in the days, but as times changed, the business model also changed. That's why some long 'forgotten' anime suddenly got new seasons, as the focus and money did not lay on Manga sales anymore but more on Merch and the money they got from Streaming Platforms. |

@Yui_Suzumiya69 Yeah even though I am not a fan of Saga of Tanya the Evil I really feel bad for the fans who have to wait so long to the point that I think that the new season is canceled . I really hope that Dress up darling s2 will not have the same fate . At least I buy the manga to read while waiting , that's something .... |
