| First off I love the character designs, simplicity is always something nice to see. The landscape is truly beautiful, feels exotic. The architecture of the buildings is similar to that of the buildings in Ghibli movies. Finally the music was cherry on top, it adds to the vibe that the show is trying to emanate. |

| A standout setting already impresses. Looking forward to seeing more of this titular "Abyss", as well as the ecosystem that dwells in each layer. The orphanage doesn't seem to offer much, besides a moderately safe roof over the kids' heads; but, judging by how quickly the Crimson Spitjaw attacked Riko, maybe that safety is more than enough for them. |
