Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Hawkman and Mecha-roots's Nyaight of the Living Cat (Night of the Living Cat) manga on Thursday. The website also revealed a teaser visual (pictured) and an announcement video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2025.

Hawkman and Mecha-roots began serializing the action horror manga in Comic Garden magazine in October 2020. Mag Garden shipped the fifth volume on February 22.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English in October 2022 and released the third volume in October 2023. The fourth volume is scheduled to go on sale on June 11.

Synopsis
A virus spreads across the world, transforming all humankind into wild, slavering, furry beasts: cats, to be precise. Those few survivors who remain human take refuge in the dark corners of the earth as they fight back against the feline horde. Kunagi, a man with no memory of his past yet a deep knowledge of cats, struggles to hold on with only his wits and a will to survive. Yet the virus transmits merely through cuddles, and Kunagi finds kitties so hard to resist! Is his willpower strong enough to withstand this hair-raising cat-tastrophe? Might be a stupid question but just to make sure: is there any animal cruelty in this one?

@0arche Even though there is horror tag but the manga is very wholesome and cute.

My doctor has always told me to smoke. He even explains himself: “Smoke, my friend. Otherwise someone else will smoke in your place.”
