[Oshi No Ko]
| The first episode was really good but the rest of the series is just trash. Definetly not deserve the title of anime of the year or any awards lmao |

| I think it is a contender and should be, but I personally do not think it is. Part of the hype was due to the extra long first episode and its shock factor alongside the author's fame. With how the story has been developing, I do not think it is anything all that extraordinary besides the animation. Even then, I argue the animation is not so much technically impressive so much as overproduced to an extent. The anime does look incredible and its visuals are topnotched, but I also question how effectively this moves the story forward and conveys the themes and messages. Being pretty does not do much for me when the pretty aspects of the show are mostly there to be pretty. So taking that into account alongside the competition, I probably would say it is just a runner up. |
