I didn't know Hoshizaki-san was underage. Only 16?!

And the Mahou Shoujo appears at the end too.

Hmm, I can't get enough of this series.
Reminds of that cooking isekai we had a year ago. It's so slow but exciting.

Hoshizaki reminds of Asuna's VA from SAO, it's rather nostalgic listening to her voice like this. Also, her age was rather surprising. lol

I watched the preview but I didn't get to see Pii-chan saying the "lol* b*" joke... XD
I'd recommend watching the preview, it's rather adorable listening to Pii-chan.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

For a specialised team the certainly where a bunch of amateurs i mean yelling on the radio breaking out in a panic not knowing what to do especially when something goes wrong, that all seems like a total lack of training and planning to me.
An another note driving in a bunch of black vans really stands out something you don't want when you are going to arrest a dangerous group.
The episode was nice tho and i like the new girl.
Hoshizaki being 16 is surprising tho i guessed her to be in her 20's tho i did think she was acting older then she actually was.

I have to say tho so for all the girls being introduced are really young when compared to the main besides Hoshizaki both the neighbour and the criminal girl also appear to be highschool girls.

Good thing they brought riot shields, otherwise... oh wait, they got beaten by bowling pins.

Dude makes mountains of gold, can barely afford to buy a box of batteries.

Get praised for fighting skill... just hid behind a barrier.

I'd point out how absurd it is to put an underage girl, who isn't allowed to drink yet, into combat, but this is Japan and it's typical.

Sasaki sure has quite the talent for magic. Peeps has quite the appetite despite his small size. Pretty catchy OP. Selling modern day tech to the other side sure is getting pretty profitable. Missing the chiefs calls really is not a good thing. While the raid went sideways the OP newcomer sure kept a handle on things. That was an impressive bit of negotiating though. Quite surprised that Hoshizaki is only a teenager despite the mastery she has of her powers and her role in the agency. Looks like Sasaki's life just got more interesting. Overall a fun ep that showed well just how ability user fights can play out when the enemy make use of surprise and smart strats.

Some very nice backgrounds.

That entire squad seemed to have zero experience, at least Sasaki and Hoshizaki did some shit. What the actual fuck.

Sasaki being a beast in combat.

That other world still doesn't interest me much, but what's happening in the real world is much better. Totally didn't see that end coming regarding Hoshizaki age. Yandere girl didn't appear this episode, hopefully next week she's back.

That ending lol. It was sooo random and eerie, in a good way I mean. She can can't possibly be a psychic from Earth with that mahou shoujo attire right?? Seems to be either from the other world or aliens.

This show is already crumbling with 2 episodes (3 if you consider the double feature premiere).

Hoshisaki is 16. The girl in the kimono is also most likely to be underage, same with the girl in the pink ceremonial clothes and also add the stalker neighbour.

When Hoshizaki said she wasn't old enough to drink alcohol yet I thought she was around 20 but I was still off, she does look older. On another note, earlier on when Sasaki was selling the two-way radios and batteries I was thinking how is that not going to raise more suspicion?? Oh and that province/region may be going to war and Sasaki may end up being an accomplice via aiding.

Anyway, this episode did go by kind of fast and 2 more girls were introduced, one in the abandoned bowling alley and the other one in the alleyway eating sweet bread, random but interesting.

I started watching this because I like birds. Pi-chan is pretty cute. Also fun to say Pi-Chan. Quality seemed dubious the first episode but fine enough. Neighbour's thing was kinda weird but it's one episode. Quality took a dip this episode and the quadrupled down on the weirdness. The Hoshizaki age decision is baffling. For this reason I'm out. Hopefully it turns out good for all those who plan on watching but I don't want to stay to find out.

A small improvement from the previous most empty double-episode of anime I'd seen. My curiosity is much more piqued. I wonder if there are many more surprises in store, but I'm more interested in more dynamic narrative developments and implementations not more new characters/twists.

Could barely watch fight animations.
Everyone behaves like untrained common folks. Or headless chickens.
They've got gear but when things went dicey kept face guards up. Also said guards won't shatter as depicted even if broken since not made of glass.
Also. That overused 'Woosh' sound. It accompanies so many fire spells as it emulates fire burst somewhat. Why apply it on water?

Mmmh it’s a strange decision to make Hoshizaki 16 years old. I hope it won’t turn into a harem anime with underaged girls lol. I liked the first episode because of the mix of the genres but I found this one pretty average and classic. I’ll try one more episode before deciding if I drop it or not.

Second episode in and I'm already questioning if I should just drop it. Hear me out a bit:

1. I knew it was an isekai, but I wanted to give it a try to see if subverted my expectations. But neither the world(s) or characters are compelling to me.
2. The isekai, for now, is just for Sasaki to sell his merchandize, nothing more. In the meanwhile, all the heavy plot implications happen in the real world but...
3. What's the plot? Sasaki doesn't even questions Pii-chan's origin. Nothing happens. He was just dragged to a supernatural agency. Is there any end goal? no mystery, no rival, no bad guy, no nothing.
4. It's giving me weird vibes that all the loli characters are gonna be interested in Sasaki one way or another and... why the F is Hoshisaki 16??? uuuhh????

Maybe I forgot something else but that's what I have on the tip of my fingers as of now.

Edit:

5. The whole action/fight scenes felt super off. Could barely hear a fait sound of music in the background. Sound effects were so predominant they felt repetitive and the animation of the characters felt disconnected from the things they were dodging. Ex: When the yellow eyed girl dodged the ice arrows from Hoshisaki, it seemed like they animated the girl dodgin air and then drew the ice proyectiles on top. I don't know, it all fell weird.

@Reecey91 I assumed she was 21-22 because she behaves like a young woman but mature enough (looking) to be working for the government. But of course, it's anime... of course she's 16 xD

Wow, talk about poor sound design. What was that? Fight felt sooo stupid and far too short, not to mention it felt unfinished, as if someone forgot to enable sound channel in final cut. Not to mention how stupid her answer was to say "this job pays well", when she was in near-death situation in literally every episode. You have to be pretty divorced from reason to say that with a smile and not have a hint of worry.

I will still watch it to the end but Hoshizaki being 16 does not sit right with me.

With that kind of job profession and her looks can easily label her as an adult but no, the author decides otherwise. I know anime do this all the time but this is different.

I swear to lord all mighty why the fuck is Hoshizaki 16 lmao. She looks like she is in her mid 20s. She acts like she’s in her mid 20s. She has a FUCKING FULL TIME JOB AS A COMBATANT.

Author was into it, I suppose.

I’m not in the crowd who actually gives a shit, but hell, the Yandere was enough lmao. I was fine with her.

Just sucks to lose an actual adult romance for once. It’s a lose lose situation all around.

Damn I was not expecting this level of Sakuga from this series. Sasaki and Hoshizaki’s first mission was really well done and nailed how dangerous this job can be.

In generally really been pleased with how the plot twists in this went. Came into this totally blind thinking it would be a cute reverse isekai and bonding show between a man and his bird, but damn this is a really good story so far! Love the mystery behind the organisation Sasaki is working for, the concept of them going on missions and that action!

Action scenes were great. So many frames from this episode were screenshot worthy. In the end things ended in a draw, but the girl Sasaki fought is in the OP so looking forward to seeing more of her. Also speaking of the OP, who would’ve thought this would’ve got a MADKIDS op? Banger.

The biggest thing everyone is up and arms about after this episode is Hoshizaki age reveal though 😂 seeing so many people whinging in forums about her being 16. This is a perfect example of why ages in anime are arbitrary and stupid and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

It does beg the question though wtf is Sasaki doing to attract all these young girls. Bro got a high schooler and a middle schooler now lmao.

A mahou shoujo hmm, wonder what that’s about. This show has some really cool worldbuilding and I need more of it.

Edit: literally just found out this is based on a LN and it all makes sense now

As good as the art is, I didn't like animation in fight scenes.
That age reveal was a surprise. I don't mind her being 16, but tbh considering all other female characters also looking like kids, I'd prefer her to be adult.

- the mission was a dangerous one, they totally lost that fight, surviving only cause mc "negotiated"
- didnt expect fmc to also be underage, but i couldn't care less cough
- 2 more magical girls this episode, the one in the fight and the one at the end, nice
- was funny to see the last girl flying, mc sure was shocked

The 16 year old thing is Just stupid but whatever. Im more concerned about the Lack of Peeps in this episode. I honestly do not care about the Agency but how in this world are their people with these insane powers? Did I miss that explanation in episode one?

I dont know. I thought the fight scenes were "okay" but I felt nothing from them.

Huge step back for me personally.

They kinda hinted at her age in episode 1 when Sasaki noticed Hoshizaki wears a lot of make-up. Probably to be taken seriously despite her age.
But it doesn't bother me. In fact, she is still so adorable and I like looking at her. They also have a good chemistry.

I'm more worried about the yandere neighbour of his.

Right, it looks like Sasaki is an underage-teenage-girl magnet. It won't be for long until he also meets the princess in the other world.
It is pretty unfortunate the manga adaptation for this LN is not much covered. I hope now that it got an anime, we will have something to read other than the LN after this anime finishes airing.

@HajimeNozomiUwU Anime has desensitized you way too much if you don't think that teens hanging out with a 40+ salary man that has probably never had a wife nor a girlfriend isn't serious. We all know these kind of wink wink nudge nudge innocent kinds of show love to act coy and make claims that their relationships aren't serious, but they serve like just another male fantasy.
