daijin was the only likeable character for me, throughout the movie..., and i can't accept that ending at all :(

...kill the cat... even if Daijin didn't need to be in that position someone did. so...why not keep the status quo? also who the hell was the big black cat? I thought it'd come up but it never did. another sacrificed person I guess. but no real info otherwise. Also who was Daijin when they were human? I want to care, but nothing of substance was given

Hes an asshole, i hate the part where the movie want me to care about him at all.
Look at Sadaijin, doing his work, covering the bullshit Daijin made.
I get it, without Daijin being a prick there is no story at all.

It did come up the black cat was the Keystone for Tokyo, the one at the train station

I think they were the east and west keystones that were mentioned. I don't know if they were ever humans, though. Souta referred to them as gods at one point. Japan has a lot of different gods, particularly small 'local' gods, so they could be based off something or just made up for the sake of the movie.

Daijin was based, same with Sadaijin. Clearly the best characters of this movie. That makes the conclusion of their stories even sadder.
