Damn that lullaby was great! Pretty sad episode, that mass death sure was unexpected but well it sure was an interesting end of this arc. Let's see what's next.

So there are no other passengers on the train afterall and that's not surprising as another group that has boarded the 999 has ended up dead.

kinda interesting story arc
I'm starting to think Tetsuro has forgotten what his mother looks like, and just replaces her face with Maetel's in his memory

Wow, that was amazing. Remembering Antares took me back to the time I started the show. But Tetsurou has learned something even better than Antares' words. As much as one must constantly fight for survival, the strongest weapon is passion, affection, caring, generosity. These insects, poor in soul, are not to blame for being weak before humans, but they understand the compassion that Tetsurou had in the episode. Very good, really very good!

Well that turned dark. Dead babies, an entire race extinct, how much more depressing can this show get?

This episode made me sad. I knew that Tetsurou wouldn't be able to shoot the babies, but they ended up dying anyway.

The sole survivor will hopefully survive back on its home planet.

Sharp send her babies to another planet because there own planet doesn't have any food source.
Sending that baby back to Endless Summer seems like a slowly death to me. Which I think it's very sad.

I probably would have tried to take it with them and hope the next planet that baby could survive.

2 episodes ago, mirror Tetsuro tried to get on the train, but an invisible force stopped him because his pass ended up being fake. I ignored it there, because I remembered specifically the Antares episode, where he was able to sneak aboard the train, but he waited until the train departed, and I thought it might have something to do with that. But then, in this episode, 100s of 'people' board with no pass whatsoever, and the conductor even comments on it ("Hey, you can't come in here. I won't allow illegal boarding!", as they swarm the train. At least according to the subs I have). Weird how the main plot/focus of 2 episodes that follow each other (I mean, it's a 2 parter) contradict themselves. Oh, and at that point, I was reminded that 1- Whenever people stole Tetsuro and Maetel's passes, they were able to get on board freely, and Tetsuro and Maetel as well. That includes the guy who forgot to change the name of the pass from Tetsuro (the genius from the lonely planet), the couple who died as the train left the station (from the 1% planet) and the armed terrorist group (you know the episode). One of these required them to check for their identity by a machine of some sort, just to get to walk beside the train (I'm not describing it properly, but I assume that anyone who's reading this has seen the previous episodes), and they would have gotten the death penalty for boarding. Why not just, you know have the barrier so people can't board with those passes in that episode?
2- The conductor is often seen walking around, just asking people to verify their passes. Is that only for people like Antares, the Valkyries, space pirates, that weird android from 5 episodes back?
I realized that I am enjoying watching this just to see how ridiculous it is. I will probably continue to vent here, please ignore my comments if you want to read positive stuff about this show. It's the fourth thing that's so obvious that I don't understand why they contradict themselves, with other stuff I've pointed out before and the whole "changing the train's direction" thing being terribly inconsistent. Oh, and the train's presumed security, but at least it's not something expressely stated visually by the show itself.
