| FFS Cid, have some shame. You copied the chuuni speech lines from the poor vampire hunter girl. Make your own at least. |
"Run, if you value your life. The frenzy has begun. The moon is red. We are out of time." The Eminence in Shadow has returned for Season Two. And, episode one has not disappointed. We open the season with Cid, once again, being an unbelievable dweeb. After a chance encounter in an alleyway, Cid spends the remainder of the episode repeating some cryptic sentences from a stranger. Why? Because it sounds so cool, right? A character trait of our chuunibyou protagonist that has great comedic value. The writer's have capitalized on it very well, without over using it, or executing it at a poor time. One of several reasons that has me drawn back to the series. I'm looking forward to the coming episodes. There's still plenty of mysteries waiting to be answered. The action scenes last season were excellent, and I am anticipating more. Episode one here had some action sequences that gives me confidence for the upcoming major conflicts. The biggest key to this season's success, I believe, will be their ability to nail the pacing like they did last season. |

| Strong ass first episode. Holy shit, Cid repeating that dialogue like an NPC had me rolling. And the crowbars at the end to top it all off |
| some feet in the very first few seconds, what a start. an alright episode overall, gotta love the fanservice. i'm expecting this to be one of the better fantasy shows this season. they got my man sugita as the red-headed dude. claire "crying" over the wrong body was jokes. |

| I'm so glad this is finally back. Cid seemed to have been quite impressed by the vampire hunter's words, as much as he repeated them over and over again. I'm already excited to see where this part of the story goes. However, one thing is clear. He will probably have no shortage of strong opponents. The charm and humor that I really appreciated in the first season also doesn't seem to have been lost in the new season. The next few months are going to be very fun. |
