Pacing was MOSTLY fine, but I have a gripe with the way they chose to animate Hisagi's surprise strike - that was definitely more striking (pardon the pun) in the manga.

@Cestlavie_ It works much better in the manga, where you have a looooong time to get acquainted with characters, to love some and hate others.

@serpant1201 the reason you feel stakes are lower is because during the first arc Ichigo only arrived at the end, somewhat battered, and only got to fight the big bad for a bit. This season, Ichigo is at his greatest strength, there are 3 other Royal Palace-buffed captain-level shinigami, and the big bad has been mostly resting for the final confrontation. Also, unlike in the manga, for the anime they have a maximum number of episodes to adapt the story in, so they're rushing through the quiet moments. You'll soon see things pick up.

@mangalicker94 you have literally no idea what you're talking about and it shows. "Rushed pacing of the manga"? That didn't happen until the last volume (10 chapters). Why the hell do you think Rangiku would be safe after Gin's death when the strongest beings in the universe are having a hard time fighting?

Episode was pretty good. They ran through Hitsugaya vs Mayuri, but can't say it wasn't faithful to the manga. Just wish we got more of zombie hitsu. Byakuya was a bad matchup for Pepe since it was basically the same shit as Zommari. Zommari was cooler than Pepe too. Woulda rather just see Byakuya fight Robert some more but Byakuya vs Pepe was established years ago in the manga so I get it.

I am completely spoiled for next episode. Next episode is going to be amazing.

Damn, it sucks that Toushirou died. I thought that he was one of the plot-armored characters in the show. But at the same time, I'm glad the author had the balls to kill off one of the popular characters unless they'll somehow resurrect him as Mayuri did to those Arrancars.

Why won't Ikkaku use his Bankai already!?
Man, is Giselle really a guy? He/she is so cute with that kind of personality. I guess I can still screw her in the ass. Haha!

Mayuri's craziness is so fucking awesome! I love that he's neither friend nor foe. I remember Mayuri only had a hard time against Uryuu long ago, but after that, he's been so tricky to fight.

I was looking forward to Walter White's performance. I can't believe he died just like that. His final attack looked cool, at least.

Why are Quincies killing each other? Is sabotaging themselves part of the plan? Haha! They need all the numbers they can muster. The Sternritters are almost wiped out.

Did Liltotto have to kill Meninas? I'm sad that two cuties have died in one episode if that was the case.

Tremendous chapter, Mayuri, a true captain, even though he uses twisted methods, rides this war in a great way.
Gigi, although it is to be feared, met the captain who should not be upset because he would lose without a doubt, he is the rival that no one would want to face unless he is more powerful like a war potential or something like that, Hitsugaya in physical power He would defeat but as we see, although he killed him several times thanks to the drug that returned him to the past, it made him live hell, then Kensei, Rose and Matsumoto suffered the same fate and became his zombies.

Average run of the mill episode again. Dialogue heavy yeah, but most of it felt over explained nonsense

Hitsugaya is confirmed dead so are the two other deadbeats and Rangiku. Nothing to worry though because they get revived as zombies, TWICE!! very convenient and jittery writing from Kubo during this segment but eh. Kurotsuchi took the spotlight literally but the whole episode I kept thinking, "okay but let's move on"

Things will get chaotic soon and my body is ready for it ~~

So when did Mayuri inject Toshiro with that hindsight drug of his?! How is it that despite the fact that Mayuri doesn’t do any training he seems more than capable of fighting against strong opponents with ease? The only one he couldn’t beat was Uryu back when Ichigo’s group was saving Rukia from her execution.

Well Toshiro has been taken care of, but now here comes zombie Rangiku, Rojuro (AKA Rose), and Kensei.

Before we get to that though we see Byakuya clapping all these Stern Ritter cheeks like it’s nothing and then we’re introduced to a new enemy, Stern Ritter L Pepe Waccabrada. His power is similar to Giselle in the idea once he touches someone with his beam he controls them completely. Byakuya made the mistake by blocking with Zenbonsakura, but he’s able to hold off the attacks with Hakura alone.

I guess luckily for him Mayuri was able to create a drug that attacks Giselle’s blood and turns her zombies into his. So now Rose and Kensei are under his control (and even though we didn’t see it I’m also assuming he did the same for Toshiro and Rangiku). Pepe is completely overwhelmed and he stands absolutely no chance against Byakuya’s backup.

Unfortunately for him, Liltotto has a score to settle with him due to him trying to turn Meninas Mcallon, Stern Ritter P against her.

Well that’s 5 Stern Ritters taken out in this episode alone (Giselle, Candace, Pepe, NaNaNa Najahkoop Stern Ritter U, and the old guy with the gun).

Let this battle continue!

Pepe was so annoying. I'm glad he didn't last long. I really enjoyed seeing the blonde girl finish him off. I really enjoy her for some reason.

The first battle spanning more than a single episode. Yumichika was about to use his actual Shikai to protect Ikkaku but was too slow. As expected, Mayuri took care of Toshiro without much effort.

Nahhhh ain't no fucking way... Black Toshiro is more ruthless and lethally efficient than his usual human self. Kurotsuchi's explanation for the zombies' skin discoloration was just a to get away with this. <--- Joke

Jokes aside damn, I'm not kidding when I say that this version of Toshiro is lethal and efficient. The use of his ice spikes on parts of his body rather than just blasting projectiles or giant ice waves was sooooo awesome. Shit man, I wish he was just as creative when using his power as this zombie version of his.

another strong episode. The time travel explanation was meh and not sure why the love didn't work on Byuakya but Mayrui is fucking terrifying and thats cool, Byuakya beating 3 stern ritters was also cool

Byakuyas new design is cool af I really enjoyed seeing him fight this episode. Kurotsuchi is just so sassy and always doing something crazy to win his battles, you really never know what he is going to pull out.
