 A television anime adaptation of noho's Tonari no Youkai-san (The Youkai Next to Me) manga was announced on Thursday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured). The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2024.noho began drawing the supernatural slice of life manga on their official Twitter page in August 2017 before officially serializing it on East Press' Mato Grosso website starting in July 2018. The fourth volume was released on April 7 last year. Synopsis "Our cat might be turning into a nekomata..." A rural town where youkai, people and gods live normal, everyday lives, mixed with a bit of warmth and occasional mystery. One summer, the twenty-year old cat Buchio suddenly evolves into a nekomata. Questioning the reason for his evolution, he sets out to learn more about transformation, together with the transforming kitsune Yuri. Muu-chan spies on the crow Tengu Jirou as he performs his Tengu duties, and begins to see Jirou in a new light. | I remember reading a few chapters years ago. It's a very unique and wholesome slice-of-life, but there were implications of a plot hidng beneath the surface. |
