I started watching this show on Crunchyroll and this show was referred as S1 in my region but then I saw in MAL there's a prequel before this season and I checked out first episode of that (2006) and both of these seasons 1st episodes are same, So is this remake or there'll be changes?

The controversial pre-release marketing material made it out to be a remake but you need the original series + sequel (or the visual novel) to fully understand it.

It’s somewhat a remake but is also different, especially towards the end of Gou. I’d recommend watching Studio Deen’s Higurashi and Higurashi Kai first, as you won’t understand some aspects of the story from Gou without those.

It's not a remake it's a sequel and must watch bro. If you watch season 1 and 2 you will get more depth of the story and ngl first 2 seasons are best, thrilling af

It’s not a remake, and words can’t describe how much I recommend seeing the original first.

Gou/Sotsu is a sequel series. Before you watch this, you must watch Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai, and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei in that order, or read the manga or visual novel equivalent.

No, it's not a remake at all. It is a sequel, period.

It's a sequel and it was shit alongside Sotsu. They practically killed the whole franchise so it's better if you just ignore their existence.
