I haven't read the LN so I'm not entirely sure why this got tagged Ecchi either. My only explanation would be that the original character designs are much more fanservicey than the anime. Especially Shirayuki, who's essentially the poster girl of the show, had her bust size nerfed immensely.

Firstly, I don't know how many ecchi scenes it should have for you can consider as an ecchi anime. As a light novel reader, I don't think that Liar Liar is an ecchi series. Yes, there are characters with big booba and those scenes in the light novel, but there are only tiny bits of them. And, they are not the main part of the story at all.
And the most important thing is, like from the above user's comment, those characters are being nerfed. Which made this anime even stand further away from the actual ecchi series.

There is none and I’m happy. I think the manga might be more risqué but thankfully the show is just about plot and the story is excellent. This show should be a solid 7.5/10 but I’m guessing the normal people aren’t watching it bc of the ecchi tag, and the weird creepy degenerates are rating it low because there are no cartoon nipples

People are rating it low because the plot is subpar at best. People desire for ecchi because there’s really no sign of decent story-telling to be found here.

Like, literally. This is an anime about winning games in which the protagonist wins by literally hacking and changing rules. It’s almost objectively a bad show.

If the waifus are quite obviously all you have, then you better make them at least acceptable. No one is here because we are actually extremely excited about how the company is gonna hack the next game.

We really just want to chill with weird ass direction choices with weirdly good animation and funny character interactions with low-tier waifus.

But I was pleasantly surprised at how enthralling the plot to liar liar was. It sets itself apart by being just unique enough to not be a plagiarized plot concept, with a really interesting premise and a feeling of “man the episode is already over?? I don’t want to wait a week!” Of course it’s nothing that I’d go out of my way to write a review for but, for this season, it’s one of the few that after watching the episode I eagerly await the next episode the following week.

Since the pandemic is over and anime is finally getting back on track it seems we are in for a surplus of shows. Last season was fantastic with around 20 good shows worth watching vs the normal like 5, this season has a large amount of shows I’d consider worth watching but not as many “great” show.

I’ll make a list of the shows so far worth watching, if I didn’t rate it’s because not enough is out to give a rating,

YUMEMIRU DANSHI as an 8.5??? Are you absolutely out of your mind? This show is “good trash” at best. It has some neat ideas, but the adaptation is just god awful. I gave it a 5 and that’s generous.

Jujutsu Kaisen rated better than Re:Zero is also crazy.

You also have a bunch of genuinely terrible Isekais ranked as 7…

YUMEMIRU DANSHI as an 8.5??? Are you absolutely out of your mind? This show is “good trash” at best. It has some neat ideas, but the adaptation is just god awful. I gave it a 5 and that’s generous.

People are rating it low because the plot is subpar at best. People desire for ecchi because there’s really no sign of decent story-telling to be found here.

Like, literally. This is an anime about winning games in which the protagonist wins by literally hacking and changing rules. It’s almost objectively a bad show.

If the waifus are quite obviously all you have, then you better make them at least acceptable.

Ecchi only makes it worse it’s a cartoon, not porn lmao. It’s not attractive or anything. And sure the maid girl is a Waifu like Rem but the plot is great. Idk what your super specific tastes are, but this is definitely in the top 5 of this season. Easy 7.5/10

Even comparing this maid to Rem should be considered some sort of war-crime.

It’s a “mid-at-best” character with no personality other than “shy kuudere who speaks very formally and follows orders” against possibly the best maid ever written in the entire industry.

Rem is an actually extremely well written character. Yuki is nothing.

I’ve edited my post to make myself a little clearer. I’m not saying eroticism would necessarily make it better, I’m just justifying why it’s something that really wouldn’t be out of place in this kind of show.

Because the plot is non-existing.

So people want anything other than the actual plot. We want comedy, character interaction and, amongst many other things, ecchi.

It’s not essential. It’s just something that would be better than this terrible plot.

The characters are likeable. They’re bad, but likeable, which is why I rate the show as a 6. It’s fine. Just fine. Won’t ever be anything more but it very hardly will become much worse as well.

Plus, I find it weird that you call big boobs and some panty-shots “porn”. Even for American standards, this is a weird kind of purity.

I mean it’s no oshi no ko (9.5-10/10) but it isn’t that much worse than re:zero. I’d say re:zero is a 8/10 give or take, but idk why you think there no plot here? I did my usual watch new episodes of anything that looks somewhat decent when a season starts and I was pleasantly surprised by this show. I typically drop anything that’s erotic because they usually have no plot to speak of and watching naked anime girls is just gross. But I was pleasantly surprised at how enthralling the plot to liar liar was. It sets itself apart by being just unique enough to not be a plagiarized plot concept, with a really interesting premise and a feeling of “man the episode is already over?? I don’t want to wait a week!” Of course it’s nothing that I’d go out of my way to write a review for but, for this season, it’s one of the few that after watching the episode I eagerly await the next episode the following week.

Since the pandemic is over and anime is finally getting back on track it seems we are in for a surplus of shows. Last season was fantastic with around 20 good shows worth watching vs the normal like 5, this season has a large amount of shows I’d consider worth watching but not as many “great” show.

You start by pretty much saying Re:Zero is just as good as Liar Liar (giving around 8 to both).

Saying Re:Zero, very easily the best Isekai ever written, is merely an 8 is already absurd. Only Mushoku Tensei can even compare to the greatness of Re:Zero.

Sure, Oshi no Ko is amazing. Fully agreed here. Easy 10/10 show.

But the rest?
