First thread I’ve ever done I just wanted to let it be known that people shouldn’t sleep on this story, ai and technology are usually just used as aesthetics in most stories regarding this topics but this is one of the few stories that gets it’s hands dirty and actually delves into the ethical dilemmas of mixing technology with humans and the effect it has on our understanding of what it means to be human or have individuality. Obviously as in most cases the authors own bias guided the narrative and I’d say this story sides more on the optimist side but it still is more interesting than 90% of the anime being released now a days talking about ai or technology.

I’m hyped because 1: Madhouse, and 2: a genuinely unique and relevant plot. Should be fire to say the least 🔥

You are one of the rare people that read the source material. How was it? What is your first impression with the characters?

I just try to read the firsts 3 chapters of every adaptation and from what i saw from this manga i personally liked it but my only worry is that it felt a bit too episodic and like it was not going to have a overarching plot. So far i feel i didn't really learn a lot from the protagonist and rather just kinda experienced his interactions with his patients from his pov, we do see glimpses of personality like how he doesn’t like self driving cars and prefers driving himself but i like that the autor made him kinda low key so they let us reach our own conclusions without being spoon fed how to feel about it with too many of the protagonists own opinions.

From what I read and saw, Just imagine a world where every human being is connected to ai, which can be modified on the likes of any person, from altering their memories to changing the whole personality, to owning other by manipulation, etc

The MC works as a gene ai doctor and off the work he works a vigilante trying to Stop the above mentioned black market and illegal exercises and other things

I am really excited to see this anime adaptation

Your explanation about the subject matter only makes me more intrigued. I don’t know anything about this series, but in my opinion, I personally don’t mind the story being somewhat episodic. From what I’ve read from your opinion and the plot, the world seems pretty set and is the norm of its society. Nothing can’t really be fixed despite possible politics surrounding it. The main drive feels to lie on the citizens/patients themselves living in the world heavily controlled by artificial intelligence. I like the idea of it following the doctor’s perspective on the multiple patients he encounters instead of having an overarching plot. He can encounter many different types of patients, each one having their own backstory and experience with how AI effects their daily lives in a positive or negative way. Again, I haven’t read the manga, but I can see this working well if executed properly.
I’m going to give this series a try once it comes out most definitely. The concept and ideas are very interesting in comparison to other series that try to adapt AI or highly advanced technology.

Not sure man, just saw the first two episodes and I'd say that it has the technological and philosophical themes right, but both stories so far have lacked that emotional punch they were looking to deliver.

Episode 1. Could have made a greater contrast between the "past" you and the "current" you by making it a greater time lapse, not only two meager weeks. That could have made more impactful, and the message than the "current" you will die in order to have the "past" you. Instead, they were sad because she wouldn't remember she tried a new ingredient in her cooking days or that she wouldn't remember the warm from his husbando hand days before the formatting.

Episode 2. Dunno, I think the message got scattered because we haven't been told how exactly are Humanoid bodies made. Since we see the school guy remember when he was younger and actually having a smaller body, we know than they "grow", they even say than he is constantly improving... but then he is not because his body has level cap. Animatrix had a better example of how somebody can overcome his limits and have it be a more impactful scene.

Maybe it's the low budget. The animation is low cost, the scene direction is only regular, the music is unnoticeable. I love the premise, and I'll keep watching it, but I don't feel like this is some sleeper hit or anything.

I like how we see the story from the side of humanoids and the episodic feeling of the series so far
