| Yeah, it's bad. The ENTIRE batch of new Weekly Shounen Jump manga, aside from Ichinose, are complete ASS. This is def not the worst one, but it's been getting pretty unbearable lately. The romance is trash, the girls are shit, the characters look ugly or are boring, there's no actual story or goal. 1/10 from me. |
| what a shitshow. seriously what was the author thinking? a honest question. he wanted a story with an oni bride, which is fine. then... the characters aren't cute, hot or interesting in the least. bland personalities. the mc is just your average loser doing part time jobs. there wasn't any potential or aim. I think aimless is the best word. I feel the mangaka just got a call that he must run a manga right now because there's an empty slot, and from then on it was on autopilot with the editor trying to make it interesting. adding more girls because manaka wasn't interesting enough, right from the start, when they should've made her interesting instead. wrong move. trying to enforce some debt+hard work subtext. is this a requirement nowadays? normalizing SUCK? living with 3 sisters who don't do shit? why add 3 damn background characters when manaka should be the focus since the manga's title refers to her. introducing some prophecy bs last minute to try to salvage it? no amount of asspulls will save a story with uninteresting characters. |

I genuinely don’t understand what they’re thinking pushing out this cycle is hot dogshit. I mean Dorondororon and Ayashimon weren’t necessarily masterpieces, but they definitely beat this new batch. Ichinose is the only exception. At this point I think they’re just digging their feet in the sand and keeping the crappy ones because they’d lose face cancelling another 4 series at the same time Funny that you mention that, because that's what's going to happen in the next few weeks. |
