if I don't watch the original Trigun, will I be able to enjoy this new one?
Also, which one is better, original or reboot?

You can definitely watch this show without watching the 98s anime. No objections if you wanna watch that one, but watching this won't make you feel lost for answers at any point (i. e. if you are binging it)

This show is more of a retelling of the Trigun manga rather than a reboot. The manga aithor was involved in the script, so whatever you'll watch in this series can be considered as the author's final and definitive version of the story.

Aight, I'll just watch the reboot then.

Yes you will. So I finished the og version last week and it's pretty good to follow, you can see more of the funny intractions vash and nicolas. But I think you better watch the original version if you want know more about this anime. Because there are many facts not mentioned in the version of the reboot. So I think they're both good to follow🤗👍✨

if you want to enjoy it, recommend not watching the original
3d is not bad but it is wacky at some parts for sure
it is very shallow and that is the biggest issue

I haven't seen the original and I thought this was excellent. You don't need any prior knowledge going in because it is a completely new adaptation.

Original is better, new Vash is so lame, no comedy, original story, but it also fine... Watch both I guess, but og is damn better than this

In my opinion, the original had more charm, gravitation, and appeal than the reboot. The original's tone is completely different from the reboot, ig.

I'm planning to watch the og Trigun. But base on what people said here, I think the reboot is enough?

The creator of Trigun, told Orange they had free reign to do whatever they wanted, because he sees Stampede as a bonus, as the 98 anime is already so great. The manga, the 98 anime, Badlands Rumble & Stampede are all separate continuities with the manga obviously being the creator’s version, there is no definitive version.

The 1998 anime  and Badlands Rumble are the same continuity.

My bad. Thought there were some conflicting things that threw that into question, but seems I misremembered. Have only seen the movie once.

The tone of the story is closer to Trigun Maximum, the manga. This show doesnt have less appeal, it just has a different kind of appeal.
Personally I continued watching because of high quality the show is, as gunslinging westerns arent really my thing. So im glad it had a lot of appeal beyond that. As a result I now love the show.

I can see someone else liking the OG show more, tho. Even if its production values are a lot lower it offers different kind of appeal.

That is bullshit. The creator has been very involved with Stampede.

I’m directly quoting an interview. Nightow did not write any of the script, he merely provided a guiding hand & would veto certain things. The only thing that’s bullshit here is you claiming Stampede is the final & definitive version.

You don't need to watch the original, to enjoy the new one. As for which is better, they're both equally good.
