It's number one on Anikore.  Number One on NicoNico just like Mushoku Tensei.  Predicted to have more sales of BD/DVDs than any other seasonal anime based on pre-orders.  Last time I looked it was also top 4 in viewership on combined Abema and NicoNico.   Reviews are filled with personal biases and agendas.  MAL does not represent anything near the majority of viewership of anime globally and is infected with Western biases, political and social agendas and perspectives.  MAL, itself, is odd in that it is an anime site for the anti-otaku.  Reddit tends to be more geared towards the battle shounen fan.  However, the content creators in the anime industry, as well as manga and light novel industries, are primarily otaku and so are the most dedicated fans that keep merchandising afloat and created Akiba.  4chan, I find, actually is better plugged into the pulse of the Otaku community than either MAL or Reddit, though I have never participated in any of the conversations.  The knowledge there is quite impressive and there seems to be more that understand Japanese language and culture.  Studio Bind seems to be on a mission to save anime from the West.  I, as a fan, don't want to turn anime into a new Hollywood, where corporate suits choose safe material and endless sequels over more niche anime.  Studio Bind lets the otaku content creators assist in production.  Nekutofu was heavily involved in key decisions in Onimai and Rifujin Maganote actually directed at least one episode of Mushoku Tensei.  This, combined with the incredible animation quality that otaku demand, make it a hit among the only audience it really cares about. Complain too much and the West could destroy the anime industry.  A growing number of Japanese otaku know this and are fighting back.  I'm all for it.

Historically, it's false that yuri is made for men, but the reverse wouldn't apply for yaoi.

I am not so sure either about this part, it's just some yuri scene that i saw are kind of ecchi like for male viewers, something like mahou shoujo ni akogarete.
it's not rare to saw H-games for male featuring yuri either, though idk if this can be applied for normal manga or not. magicami recent event also have yuri theme.

It's not applied. I'm only talking about GL manga.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

I'd disagree here. Maybe some and I don't judge them for it. But the series is nothing like a trans story for example, as they use every chance to say he is male. I really don't understand why LGBT+ people would like it.
bro i agree hes male but so many people interpret it as a trans story???

idk gang i like it but i do wish twitter people would stop interpreting it as an lgbtq anime

There are a lot of gender bend manga that have been around for quite a long time, and just now seem to be getting lots and lots of anime adaptations. But I would say only like 1 out of 50 of these stories would be specifically targeted at the current trans, lg, whatever communities that are specifically looking for that story. Everything else is either just for the interesting story, or the comedy of it all (which most gender bend manga have a large amount of) with a bit of love interest sprinkled in here and there.

FocusIssues Has an amazing post about the other side of things. People in the west who aren't very knowledgeable on the wide variety of these types of shows that have been around for a very long time, are just now being exposed to it and can't handle it. (Loli, CTDCT, ecchi, etc) Things rolled into one or many. To the many again that are used to these kinds of shows, its just normal. Its not like its some controversial thing each time. Most people just see these new shows, don't bat an eye to anything people might complain about in the west, watch them, and be done with it.

This is perfect btw. Many know it to be true.

What exactly does "he's male" mean to you in this context? Technically, "she" is genetically female right now.

its pretty understandable to be honest. its quite a challanging anime for the simple minds of the avradge todays anime watcher. they just dont understand the brilliance of the loli forced transition masterpiece that is Oniichan wa Oshimai.

Shortened politically correct slang for hidden CIA/FBI false flaggers posting there. Original word for it includes site's favourite n-word.

I like it very much, it's cute, wholesome and pretty harmless if you ask me. Not sure why people would describe as perverted or exploitative. If you overlook the small issue that the anime is set in the real world, and there's a fucking medicine that changes your gender immediately, which is honestly quite absurd (I would like that medicine ngl), then it's a pretty great series overall.

As somebody who likes lurking on 4chan from time to time to give myself a laugh, there's a very distinct and perverted reason why they like this show so much. I'm not going to get into it as to avoid being reported. Let's just say the reasons are very much similar to the reasons why people like Wataten.
