A trial huh? Of course, Ignlis is usually excited but it looks like the trial itself is a test of mentality.

However, even when tested mentally, Ignlis still displayed her aura of confidence. I've yet to see a true weakness of her character yet.

Lets go time for my fave show of the season.

Honestly they’re gonna have to start coming up with harder tests for inglis. The physical ones ain’t working and she’s even blazing thru the mental ones, lol.

Glad Liese and Rani were able to make up. We’ve got a full squad now, really looking forward to their dynamic going forward

Really fun character driven episode that hopefully will set us up for a world building ep next week, hype.

In this episode we got:
-Huge budget cut on animation
-Underwhelming problems solving
-Bland characters being introduced
-Quite a boring one to watch

Hopefully it's getting better, tho my expectation is so low to think that could happen, would be happy if i am proven wrong later..

This episode is a bit strange in his adaptation. The reason why they did this exam is skipped, so I wonder if they'll skip everything that turns around this :/ (it would be sad, it's the best part of the second volume XD )

Animations and art style really suffered in this episode. I hope it returns to what it was. I really liked this Anime, but if this keeps going I'd drop it in a heartbeat.

I see the first thing the girls are doing is sampling the cafeteria's food. Its kinda surprising to meet people within the academy from other countries. But at least it allows an unbiased set of eyes to join them. This years freshman are indeed an unusual bunch thats for sure. The flying gear kinda resembles speeders from SW. I pegged Liselotte as a typical arrrogant noble that wouldn't learn but it seems i was wrong. Leone sure had the roughest time during her trial. The principal got outplayed again lol. Its nice to see Inglis and Rani forge their first real friendships within the academy.

Well you're right, but you can't expect to have the same quality all the time, especially for episodes that are not focused on actions (like episodes 2, 5 and 6 that are, unsurprisingly all noted with bad animations).

i disagree, Inglis's face design is very strange and I'm not sure if they know how to draw it since it often changes.

(that's my bad point with the anime XD but it's like that since the first previews lol)

Well damn, I rarely notice animation 'quality' moments myself, but this episode sure was something else. The CG usage was so bad that it made me think of amateur cg-shorts on youtube from way back when.

I really hope they'll catch the guy who made off with their animation budget and get the money back =_=

Talk about unnecessary and disrespectful to the test, honestly the impatience and childish idea to break the test rather than face what it was trying to tell you makes Inglis feel off to me. Then worse than that she ruins the challenge faced by two of her fellow knights. Yeah sure maybe Inglis didn't need the test but the two students deserved a chance to face the challenge head on and had that taken because of her immaturity.

That poor principal/teacher/whatever.  At this point I'd start to question whether Inglis is screwing with me or not.  First it's launching the golems out of the ring multiple times, which ruins the test, and now with breaking another test again.

The team is finally assembled, I don't mind Inglis cheating her way but not a fan of her ruining the test for others, specially since those two seemed exactly the kind of person that needed such kind of mental test, at least Rani had a chance to do it properly.

The test couldn't learn her anything she would want (aka what happened after her death), because everything she saw was related to her memories, so nobody could told her anything.

Btw, Leone would have lost the challenge without their intervention... and it was necessary for Liselotte to see how much she suffered.

I honestly don't think Leone needed a test where she had to live her happy childhood after everything she endured.

It's not about what she wants, it's a test.

So? If Leone would have lost that's okay... it's a test not something she should be saved from, also there are plenty of ways to make Liselotte more sympathetic without ruining the test. Inglis is arrogant* and can afford to cheat but the others are kids on their first lives. Just doesn't seem right nor something someone who was once King would do to me.

Well I'm a LN reader and I don't know what was the purpose of the test (since nobody actually tells us what it was in the end XD ). The only thing I'm sure is that they had to find a door to get out :/

About Leone, it's really cruel for her to have to see her happy childhood living with her older brother, with everything that happened to her later on. She wants to stop her brother, but when she has the possibility (with some illusions) to do it, she hesitates, is unable to strike back her father words... Liselotte "kills" Leone's family, because she now knows what she endured and thinks she doesn't need to go through that.

We start of the episode with Inglis and Rani absolutely stuffing their faces in the cafeteria a scene we should be familiar with by now.

We also get an introduction to Lahti and Pullum, seems like their a couple, who are from another country. If I recall they were one of the last people on that gravity platform practice aside from the main 4 girls. They seem nice enough as well.

We also meet Marquez, an instructor for the 1st year students whose first lesson with them involves using flygears which is some type of flying machine for 2 to 3 people. Inglis didn't like Lahti slightly boasting and since she doesn't like losing immediately showed him up. I also liked the part when Lahti called her beautiful and Pullum got jealous.

The principle says the name of the 4 main girls and Pullum and says that they have been selected for a test, to a place called "labyrinth of ordeals" Where not only is strength tested but also the mind. For Inglis the test showed some of her memories from this life but also some from her previous life. Inglis eventually had enough and straight up broke the test in a way. With her meeting up with Liselotte and Leone they finish the test successfully together, not what the principal expected tho. Rani also completed the test, kinda feel bad for Pullum tho, she apparently failed almost instantly.

We get a nice bit at the end with Leone moving into Liselotte's room with all 4 of them seeming getting along nicely!

We them all on good terms what awaits them next episode?

Rani can get shit done without Inglis's help wow, she's a cheat code to every fight. Some animation moments were lacking but didn't really bother me that much. It's typical of anime nowadays, what was important is that the relation ship between the girls is flourishing in a good pace. Love their smiles, it gives me positive energy. The animation overall was decent.

I came here for this exact reason.  Last episode was when I started to notice the animation quality slipping but it wasn't that bad but holy shit things went downhill this episode.  The show isn't exactly well written to begin with so the cute girls were really carrying it so I ended up skipping through most of it because it was so difficult to watch.

I enjoyed the comedy bits in this episode such as when Rati, one of the new characters, was shocked by how much Inglis and Rani eat, how fast Inglis runs with heavier gravity and the instructor's reaction, and how Inglis just brute forced her way through the Labyrinth of Trials. At least the brute force lead to Liselotte seeing what Leone has to suffer with and they all eventually became friends as shown in the OP.

I've been enjoying watching this anime and I'm looking forward to watching what happens next.

Honestly that's sad to hear that even in the LN the test is left undefined and a mystery, I figured maybe the novel would show Lani's perspective given she's the only one who passed correctly.

I get what and why it happens, I'm saying the author could choose a million ways to make Liselotte more sympathetic without cheating Leone out of overcoming whatever she was supposed to overcome in that situation. It is what it is, if you're cool with how it was told that's fine.

Why is this episode animated sooooo badly :

- like the drawing is bad : their faces are sometimes none symetrical + they looks like potatoes + the lineart is a bit fatty
- frames are repetitive, it makes scenes really unconfortable to watch + because of that characters looks like they are NPCs + characters never blink, it makes it relly weird...

idk why this episode is so badly animated but i hope they'll fix that cuz I like this anime

Well to be honest, if I appreciate Liselotte's developpement during that trial, Volume 2 is my least favorite book. Why ? Because it has the weirdest pacing I've ever seen in a Light Novel (and you'll probably see what I mean in the next episode, just remember we started Volume 2 in the second part of the last episode).

And there's also the fact that everything that let us go to the trials were skipped in this episode (I think they reorder things though) making it look pointless.

Inglis and Rafinha can eat so much for breakfast, she's exactly like her old geezer self. Exchange students Rati and Pram are at the very least interesting with their pairing.

The relentless practice runs are underway, and Inglis is not one to be outdone of her competitiveness, as well as the rest to catch up to Instructor Margoose and be taught on Flying Gears, and more. Principal Miliera's special test of the Labyrinth of Trials where Inglis, Rani, Leone, Pram and Liselotte are chosen to do, and it's an individual effort. It turns out that this test, more than sifting through old memories of youth and past life, the spaces are connected of different levels. Everyone is confronted with bad memories of their past, even Leone herself, having to have Liselotte save her, and they came out scot free, except Pram which failed.

To celebrate, a party in Liselotte's room, with Leone being the nervous wreck no more.

While the animation this episode has enough to scoff at, at the very least, Leone is now accepted, and that's a good thing.

I wonder if Chris has some sort of trauma with the goddess, or just doesn't want to potentially fight a memory of them? Well, we know mental attacks would definitely affect her! Considering how much she values Rani. I doubt that it'd have any effect other then enraging her!

Art is really inconsistent in this one, the face is over-beautified on certain scene while the other scene it can look like it was drawn by a 5-years old kid. Guess they are saving their budget for future episodes, I hope so.
