Another one of those reborn into a new world except this one even has gender bender elements. That OP song is kinda catchy though.

On the other hand, it was hard to take the show seriously when we have a baby taking most of the screen time this episode. At least the episode did also have a somewhat serious tone when that monster dragon attacked. Ignlis at her age is pretty tough and isn't going to let anyone push her around.

YELP, ONE MORE. JUST ONE MORE reincarnation story...are we at the finish line yet for this season? Apparently NOT.

OST is fine though. Yui Nishio's ED still has that "Banished from the Hero's Party" charm of its OP.

The Hero-King Inglis's wish to be someone else other than king for a chance at a second life, he would rather be someone who's a warrior mastering the blade for an interest, but a sex shift reborn being a girl. These are VAs Mugihito and Akari Kito in trying to be like Mushoku Tensei's Tomokazu Sugita in Rudeus's form. Having to be saved by the family raising the sex shift baby girl that Inglis is, and not a surprise that he has magic powers (called aether and Runes) retained from his past life. Even worse, defeating a magicite beast by her own powers, it's too much for a baby.

Sometime has passed, and Rafael Billford grows into a budding young man, his opponent Rahl Rambach uses magic to intimidate the training soldiers, and Inglis helps her brother find a way to land a strike on him. And when he couldn't, Inglis picks on Rahl, and the rest of them just go along with her trickery to face him head on. The potential prodigy has awakened to sharpen her swordmanship skills and earns the praise of her family members and the people around her. The reborn life, ready to take shape where magic is non-existent.

Feels a bit cookie-cutter, though the sex shift trope is becoming too common nowadays. A decent start.

It seems everyone in the west hates the isekei shit. does everyone in Japan love it? I mean they seem to love boruto for whatever reason there.

Because the person was reborn in peaceful manner.
UPD.

I've just recalled something. Sometime ago I've read this LN. And dropped it. This is why

You know this isn't an isekai, right? Besides, just because the assholes are the loudest, doesn't mean isekai isn't still really popular here. We live in a time where people appreciate that escape. No one is actually listening to the cunts, no matter how much attention they want.

For first episode, this is a generic isekai-ish (well technically reincarnation) anime start. But I have to say, this is one of the better first episodes released in fantasy & isekai genre this season.

Out of some 7-8 animes that I started this season, its first episode is one of the better ones. In 2-3 cases, it sucked to the point that I desire leaving if Episode 2 doesn't improve.

Well there is more to the world than "The West". In Japan its pretty popular. Isekais give a chance to people to escape reality even as a concept.

By the way, this anime isn't an isekai. Its a regular reincarnation themed fantasy anime. There is no other world, just the future of the fantasy kingdom. [I'm talking based on what Ep1 showed, I don't anything abt the source material.]

Hell yeah, something I've always yearned for in a reincarnation situation is where the baby has the memories and knows how to activate some of their power. The baby blasting the hell out of the dragon (only witnessed by her cousin) before she can even speak words is an awesome moment. I wish we could have seen a little more of that action but the swordplay towards the end will have to do. I'm ok with that. I do hope they've taken some time to savor more "OP in youth" moments before she grows up.

Cheers. Music ain't bad, the ED is catchy.

Enjoyable start for another anime with an OP protagonist. I like their personality(really  no idea if I should adress them as him or her xD) I'll probably go with him since it's Inglis.

i tottaly agree. i think it really adds something to an anime when we get to see them grow up or at least have some time spent on the younger years. i hope we get more of that too exsepcialy with the MC being more advanced for kids her age and well get all those good shocked op moments. I think the death scene was great and such a good way to start and they op baby was so fun. so far this is one of the best anime iv seen coming out this season and if it stays this fun it might make it the best anime with really high re-watch value. :)

Easily one of the best first episodes we’ve had this season. Already one of my fave shows. Studio Comet’s art style on this one is so good. Idk how to describe it but I’m in love with it.

Love how much female lead fantasy we’ve got this season, always my fave type of story since girl MCs are usually written better. The set up of the king being reborn as a girl and having all his memories is awesome. Taking down the dragon as a BABY had me crying.

Like imagine getting beat up by a FIVE year old lmaooo

I gotta check out these LNs this is great. Really hard to beat cute OP girls

Not everyone hate. Most webnovel writers and readers in west seem to like isekai too. For example world's longest novel The Wandering Inn is isekai.

the general flow of the fight inglis had was good shit.
i dont't dislike this kind of "mana and mana plus" approach, but they're already going for the shitty trope where after the mc's rebirth everyone has garbage tier magic skill and our femc is inconceivably ahead. same shit we know from shikkakumon, daimaou and any mmo-type isekai like overlord.
i'm keeping it at a generous 6 for the things it does better than some of its lowest effort rival stories

Quite funny, but perhaps the show needs to decide if the MC needs to strive for the heights they want to achieve or if it will all just get handed to them on a plate.

To be able to see one's patron god as they reach the final goodbye huh. An excellent reward for such a beloved king. But being reborn as a girl though is an eventuality that even he did not forsee. Im glad that her parents survived that surprise attack by the dragon though. Rahl looks to be the cunning and cruel type going by his actions. Using trickery in honourable single combat shows how pathetic he really is. But wow Inglis really made the fight against the cheat simple. But it was damm fun seeing him panic. Must be humilating being bested by a five year old. Overall a pretty fun opening ep that did well to showcase a very rare deviation from the usual isekai formula by having our king come back as a girl. Her focus on improving her ability with the sword and using it to help people i feel would only serve to make her a more relatable character as well. The ending theme was pretty cute.

I knew this was a reincarnation story, but I had no idea it was about an old man reincarnating into a a girl, that was a huge surprice for me.

I liked Inglis a lot, the fact she is an expert in everything but shows to still have the heroism from her past self.

Ill keep watching it, seems really fun. Also, seeing a baby completely obliterate a dragon was wild af lmao

A "female" lead fantasy action.

Inglis a king who was once a warrior dies and wishes to reincarnate to take the path of a warrior because he wasn't able to do so in his past life. In her new life, she is able to defeat Rahl, who remains undefeated by many of the guards then gets taken out by Inglis, I can see where this is going. But Damn. That goddess did him dirty 😂

People keep calling this an isekei when the person was reborn into the same world they already were in. I thought the point of an isekei was them being reborn into a different world from the one they originated from.

Yeah, it's not technically an isekai, but very similar since it's set in the typical fantasy world with magic, monsters, etc., and the MC is using their knowledge from their previous life to get ahead in their new one. I like that this time, instead of modern-day knowledge, she has the wisdom? of old age + magic. Usually isekai MCs need to learn magic since it's not in our world, but this time it's the other way around.

There is something abseloutly hillarious about a baby / a toddler beating up monsters and knights, all with this "I WANNA FIGHT!" smile over her face.

I hope it keeps up even when Inglis grows up. The fanservice-y opening makes me worry. But this was probably my second-most favorite premiere this season, after Tensei Oujo.

It did enough to get me to continue watching. I actually bought the first volume of the light novel on my Kindle but never got around to reading it. I just might. Still don't think it'll be a better gender bender than Ayakashi Triangle though.

Oh wow, this is genuinely good, I understand isekai / reincarnation / reborn shows are all about power fantasy and wish fulfillment but the single fact that MC was not a loser / someone with a shitty life but instead a wise and selfless person who wanted not even enjoy life this time but keep working hard makes a ton of difference, being overpowered and putting bad guys on their place feels earned. Plus, tons of cuties on this show so that's like a million extra points.

The male to female genderbend trope is the one that’s become common, not a female to male one or one where they swap genders back and forth. Afaik, there hasn’t been one like that in a long time.

Is it important to the story that a king is reborn as a girl? Does not seem like it to me, should have just had a queen reborn as a girl. Enjoyed the first episode, but may drop it if she continues to have the old man inner monolog to remind me it is a king's mind in her.
