I don't know how to explain it. It just lost its charm for me. It felt like a generic show where season one was a fun ride.

s2 is a big downgrade in my opinion plus finding out the ending basically got rid of all the love I had for the show after watching s1.

For the first thing, sadou himself says that he has gone soft but actually he was a somewhat soft person but didn't really give much thought.
and about rating u can say that 70-75% of the low rating is just because of bad animation and other other reason is due to arc being kinda generic. It could have worked out if it came earlier, when 1st season came but without much time difference. But after so long it just fell under people's radar and they forgot about it(mostly), so when 2nd season actually came it just seemed really generic(and to top it of, the bad animation).
Hence the bad rating.

Personally i feel as though after the long wait for a continuation after season one people had expected much more and this was a real let down, but honestly for the most part you shouldn’t take Mal ratings to heart as the majority of Mal users are foreigners, the main audience, the japanese, usually don’t submit their rating here.

Studio has changed along with almost whole staff. That usually means drop in quality. Especially after almost ten years.

The rating should be even less in my opinion. The second season was lackluster compared to the first, the pacing was weird, it was all over the place and it lacked structure and the comedic charm that first season brought. It just felt like a fan-made sequel.

I don't know, there was a certain subtle charm about the first season that made it very funny and made the characters very likeable

it was just boring tbh. besides that baby getting involved at the very start, I don't remember there being anything too interesting in terms of story progression.

I can only remember one fight scene that was horrible too, but I didn't really watch it for that exactly

I liked it. I don’t know what “charm” it lost compared to season 1 that ppl like to constantly state. But at the end of the day, all that matters is if you enjoyed it. Can’t wait for the next adaptation.

Part of it is probably because now we know how it ends in the LN which is awful and it takes some of the fun out of the anime

I now have completed have and I think they are tryna to you know make emi and maou together now that the only thing that made emi hate maou more than his specie was his father being murdered by him. But yeah the season fwlt like so generic and they didnt even thought to make good ending of the season. Idk how they could have done showing this part where his father is alive. But definitely shouldnt be in the ending. Cuz the anime really didnt do any fights. Only thing i was able to enjoy as action was the maou full devil form in his king-like dress.

I didn’t finish season 2. Season 1 was amazing. I loved the comedy and I think that’s my fav part about the show. I gues season 2 till where I watched failed to even make me chuckle. My friend who finished the season said it’s pretty much the same throughout.

Also after a decade I would expect decent animation. If not better somehitng similar. I didn’t really like this season animation.

it's simple. first season is about being a poor mcdonalds worker in Tokyo with occasional wacky action episodes.

second season is...de-emphasizing the mcdonalds aspect, introducing characters that are just from the fantasy angle of the show, and most of the season is out of Tokyo.

I think this show would greatly benefit from 24 episode seasons, but we get what we get. Mixing fantasy and mundane modern Tokyo is the appeal, and while things are still mundane, it's focusing more and more on the fantasy and not adding anything from the modern Tokyo setting. This turns it more and more into a generic isekai. again, I think 24 episode season would fix this greatly.

I don't think season 2 was as good as season 1; the pacing felt slower and some of the attempts at humor didn't quite land. I also felt like all the lore/plot-heavy bits felt more dull than it would've been if they focused on wacky hijinks of demons trying to live in normal society.

However, I watched this season dubbed, and had a great time with how they went about it. The dub definitely elevated the show for me.

I felt like all the lore or new story aspects of the story that came in s2 were jumbled and all over the place. It was too much random open plot threads to keep track of weekly and mostly felt irrelevant.
